Knicks like Bibby...

Post#1 » by KingFan4Life24 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 8:24 am

An article from sacbee, Amick, a guy who usually knows his stuff. Even though I don't know why... I'm always following these knicks as my favorite east coast team. Anyway, Amick says a few interesting things such as the Knicks like Bibby, or Artest (we all know)in a trade.. also Carter in a knick jersey?Like to get your thoughts on the Knicks liking Bibby.

PS BRING DAVID LEE TO SAC!

Unless the Knicks are getting shorter contracts in return, I wouldn't do any deal with the Kings, no David Lee, no Balkman, no Mardy Collins.

KingFan: I think that you'll find most here opposed to trading our young players like Lee and/or picks for vets.
The Knicks have been playing that game for a decade now and going nowhere with it...

And once again, I see where Kings fans in general (and not all obviously) get their delusional ideas of what their players are worth from. Honestly, with the type of expectations the Kings supposedly are looking for in return for their players they'd be a championship caliber team (I mean if they players are so darn good right?) instead of a team that is really just a touch above the Knicks in stinkishness. And obviously there is a history of Petrie pulling gold out of his rear end to show that he's some miracle working GM. Petrie is like the Jays Beattie...he'll hold his breath and not budge from asking for the sky for his assets and end up doing absolutely nothing. Unreal. Absolutely unreal.

Bibby/Artest for Bootbury/Balkman........

Bootbury's attitude rots, team plays looser w more assists without him.
Balk would lose his minutes to Artest anyways.
Addition by subtraction, Bootbury and Bibby both need change of scenery.

Lee goes nowhere. Will probably be the starter once Zack is shipped out.

bibby is even more of a shoot first pg guard than Steph. He may not be the chemistry problem steph is but he is not what we need. We need to be looking for a suitable shooting guard with some size and let JC have to keys to the pg position.

Jamal has less problem scoring (he's more efficient) from the point guard spot as opposed to always having to break down bigger guys for an open shot. He doesn't get as badly beaten on defense from the pg as he does when he's playing the 2guard

I understand and agree, but how do you propose we lose BootBury?
It's obvious he needs to go and there's no line at the door asking for him...

If this rumor is true about Knick interest this almost has to be what Isiah's looking for. I don't think the Kings bite on this one but would they for Balkman/WarBury for Bibby/Moore??

I'd do that. Moore expires after this season btw.

I personally want no part in Artest - too much risk in NYC and with this team - and don't think Sac can afford to lose him without getting another sure thing back. We still need to be angling for a high pick here. Artest puts us squarely back in win now mode :wavefinger:

It is funny how around here lee is viewed as overrated and in sactown, an organization that has a good reputation for finding talent, views lee as having upside galore? Isiah would be a damn fool to move lee, unless it is in a deal to get a true franchise player back.. that is not happenning so lee should stay...

These two paragraphs make me _very_ nervous.

Yet both sources said Knicks coach and team president Isiah Thomas still refuses to give up Lee, which will matter as long as Knicks owner James Dolan doesn't fire Thomas. And while fans at Madison Square Garden continue calling for Thomas' head, what happens in New York in the coming weeks certainly could affect the Kings.

If Thomas is fired as team president, it is believed the Knicks would reconsider various offers Thomas has recently rebuffed. Among them are scenarios that include guard Jamal Crawford leaving town, and another

You think the majority here view Lee as overrated TK? I thought he was overvalued but, I wouldn't trade him unless its a significant upgrade. You can't discount the fact that guys like Lee and Jamal are the glue type of guys you need for your chemistry to work.

Jamal is just passive enough (personality wise) that he doesn't rub his teammates wrong when he's got it popping and Lee does all the little things that make thing go. You move him it needs to be a significant upgrade

I wouldn't say majority, but there is a large contingent out there that thinks lee is overrated and overvalued, I mean aren't they pretty much the same in this case?
