I'm just curious, everyone says Don't trade Lee. Is he a Free agent this summer or is it a team option?
No one wants to trade Lee but there is no guarantee he'll stay here when the season is over.
I don't know all the contract situations so please fill me in

Lee can be given an extension this off-season, but he expires next season. Rookie are four year deal, the 3rd and 4th years are team options. Even if the Knicks are over the cap, they can still resign a player with three or more bird years. A bird years are years that a player is on a team without him going to another team via free agency. Since Lee will be entering his third season, even if the Knicks are over the cap they can still offer as much and more money to Lee then any other team.
With the new CBA rules the Knicks can also offer increments in their contract up 10.5% for a maximum amount of 6 years.
