Houston would LOOOOOVE Deal #3, Atlanta would laugh in our faces at Deal #1, and Deal #2 IMO is the fairest for both sides (not saying I'd be 100% for it though), maybe if Chi-Town sent us back our 2nd Rounder, and their 2008 2nd Rounder I'd do it.

Are you a Duke fan, by any chance? Look at that, a former Blue Devil coming to NY in each trade: Shelden Williams, Chris Duhon, and Shane Battier. Cameron Crazies rejoice!

No way will ATL give up Josh Smith, the only way you will see this guy in another uni is by free agency. That guy is the future of the hawks, and 3 years from now will be the face of ATL over Joe Johnson.

I wouldn't mind doing all three deals in some way, shape, or form and then luring Coach K away from Duke to run this team.

I was thinking that too, but a couple of weeks ago they had a rumor of him wanting out or being on his way out of atlanta on hoopshype.com. I don't remember exactly and haven't heard anything in these lines ever since.

anyway, they do have marvin williams at his position and childress on the bench, which is quite something. on their board I got the impression that they're trying to move zaza pachulia, which would mean that they are looking to upgrade their center position. curry next to horford would be a huge upgrade if you ask me. I understand your point though, definitely

Atlanta would not do deal #1, but it depends on how much their cheap ownership wants to rid themselves of claxtons deal..

I would actually do all of these deals, with the exception of the Houston deal. I don't like trading big for small, unless that small is just as good if not better...

I would say that the first 2 deals are unrealistic, and the last one I wouldn't do, despite the fact I'm not a huge fan of Randolph's game.

I would have said the Celtics' offseason rebuilding among a long list of other trades was unrealistic, so I'm not going to let this count :)

NYK --------------------------- ATL

Eddy Curry ------------------ Josh Smith
Mardy Collins (Balk/Lee) --- Shelden Williams
Fred Jones ------------------- Speedy Claxton

Atlanta says no, and I don't particularly like the deal because Josh Smith is a PF -- where would Lee/Randolph play? The point is to simply dump Curry without giving up any of your youth.

NYK -------------------------- Chi

Zach Randolph (3yrs) ------ Ben Wallace (2yrs)
Fred Jones ------------------- Noah or Tyrus Thomas
Balkman --------------------- Chris Duhon

Take out Balkman because we don't need Duhon. The dude is so overrated. And, Noah, not Tyrus.

NYK -------------------------- Houston

Zach Randolph -------------- Shane Battier
Balkman --------------------- Mike James

Houston wouldn't do it because of Battier. I wouldn't do it because of Balkman... try sending Q/Jeffries. We should be keeping our young players.

The Bulls wouldn't touch that deal. Both Wallace and Randolph are negatives to a team, so why give up a recent lottery pick to take on the negative who costs more and has the longer deal?

fine, no josh smith, not even with lee included, not even with rumors of his departure on hoopshype.com some weeks ago. I'm going to accept that because I would not trade him either, even though I think that it would make some sense. but how about this one then...?

ew. Houston doesn't have the money to pay 3 max contracts, and we rather keep shane battier, hes our glue guy. Mike James will go for free though.

battier would be the best person on this team BY FAR if that Houston trade happened and no other trade happened. Battier would be the only real basketball player on our team, is a leader, and might possibly teach our roster how to play real basketball instead of streetball.
