so i'm guessing htis isn't a real deal?

how about instead of doing this, we just start Jerome James instead of Curry. I really wish Curry had just failed his physical when we signed him.

THANK YOU!!! We have people on this board that seems to feel that only Knick players can't play defense.

Garnett, Allen and Pierce are gathered around a computer shivering in fear.

It is possible they operate under the belief that only Knicks players in the NBA don't play defense, and every other player does, so that would then mean that if you get them on the Knicks, the defense improved. Case in point was the overhyping of the defensive prowless of Jared Jeffries. Jared can play 4 positions and is arguably an ok defender at them. This gets built up on here as Jared being a defensive STOPPER. If Jared were a defensive stopper, he makes more than the MLE.

People here also hype up shotblocking to, leading to the belief Jerome James would be the top shotblocker the Knicks needed.

Jeffries is an excellent defensive player. Hes similar to Camby however in its affect on the team.

I will explain.

In Denver Camby is the DPY and one of the very best interior defenders this league has seen however hes also the only one who bothers to play any D at all. Therefor the team is garbage on D.

In NY Jeffries is in an even worse position since so often he finds himself needing to make plays or, worse yet, make shots on offense. When hes the only one working on D and is exposed on Offense he looks terrible.

But defense is not an individual concept. Its a team concept. Bowen would be ineffective if he didnt have backup on the perimeter and interior. Good offense beats good individual defense in this league. A single screen can overcome the move tenacious defender without help.

Yeah, lets go get the only center worse at blocking shots then Curry.

that is not true at all. The good defenders like Artest, Bowens, Bell, Kobe, etc... stop you from even getting the ball. That has nothing to do with the rest of the team.

Fact is Jeffries is getting paid more than bowens and his only job is to play defense which he can't even do. He probably weighs just as much as Camby and is an inch shorter and is 1/8 of the defender he is.
