League source tell the Bergen Record that the Nets are set to acquire Stromile Swift from Memphis in exchange for Jason Collins.

The deal is expected to be finalized Friday or Saturday.

Swift has fallen out of favor with the Grizzlies, but has a per 40 FIC of 12.8.

Collins, meanwhile, has a 2.4 per 40 FIC, which is amongst the worst in the entire NBA.

Swift is a good player when he's on, Collins is a not even worth a bag of turds.

With this pick up, do you think the Nets are gearing to ship Boone or Williams?

Nate Robinson, Balkman, Jerome James, Jeffries for Kidd.

I dont like Swift but I think we are desperate enough to add a shot blocker at this point that even Swift woul be an obviously good pick up for us.

This is a good trade for the Nets. They are in desperate need of some athleticism in their front court, and Swift will give them that (if nothing else). Hell, Jason Kidd may even make Swift look good..

But since they have Miller and Gay I think a skilled passing big would be perfect they are really underperforming I think they should have fired a real coach instead of going run and gun.

Swift may be a bust but he's WAY better than Collins (who is pretty much useless at this point in their careers). And they both have the same contract. Nets did very well for themselves by adding a veteran that, while not the stud he was supposed to be when drafted, is more than adequate off the bench.

Swift just goes in and out of Memphis. They should probably hold on to his jersey because chances are...he'll be back with them next season in some form or another. And then they'll trade him again for a bag of peanuts.
