O/T: Jury Duty

Post#1 » by KrAzY DeMoN » Thu Mar 27, 2008 4:24 am

I got called in to the selection, will I get paid for that day? I'm available to work that day, but if I tell my employer they will probably give me the day off. This is my first time dealing with this, how does it work?
thanks..

Are you asking if you're gonna be payed by your employer? cuz if you are...no one can really tell you here, only your employer

It said, to call the day before. Maybe I should call sooner...

Yeah, Im wondering If I get paid by my employer. My girlfriend told me that you only get paid if you are scheduled to work that day. But if I tell them I have jury duty, they will probably not schedule me and I will lose out on that money. So I'm wondering If I should let my employer know...

I'm not sure if it's actually law, but employers pay you for jury duty as long as you bring in proof that you went.

Your employer should pay you.

Everyone should do it once. I thought it was very interesting to be part of a trial. You learn a few things. Kinda fun...but once was enough. It's very long and lonely. lol
