Who else would take a chance on Jordan/McGee?

Post#1 » by TrueWarrior » Wed May 21, 2008 1:57 am

After Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Bayless, and Lopez are most likely gone I dont see any other promising prospects for us in this draft, at least with star potential. Gordon might be a great scorer but I dont see him becoming more than a Ben Gordon type. Galinari is just another soft Euro and 9 times out of 10 they bust it seems. Even Dirk isnt that great and hes the cream of the crop, plus we already have Chandler at SF who I think is going to be pretty damn good.

Honestly Im leaning towards going with Jordan or McGee, hiring big Pat, and hopefully magic happens. Its a long shot but right now we need a home run, not a single. Id rather swing for the fences with a big chance of striking out than hitting a seeing eye single. Who else feels this way? We cant pull a Frye over Bynum again.

no thank you. We need someone who can contribute now. I also think Curry will turn his game around under D'Antoni, so we dont even need a C

If I had to take either, I'd go with Jordan.

Jordan has the potential to be a monster (of course also the potential to be a big flaming bust). If he can work on his conditioning and add 10-15 pounds of muscle (he has the frame to take the weight) he might be able to get buy just by size and athleticism, does seem to fit well in an uptempo offense (where he can use his combination of size and speed to be pretty hard to stop on the move).

Still extremely risky though but it may be worth it.

Jordan cant work in NY, too much pressure from fans who want a finished product. Jordan is FAR too raw and should be back in school right now like Thabeet is doing(Thabeet will become a beast and its because of him staying).

Jordan is what Thabeet was his freshman year, a guy who just aimed to block shots but nothing else.

Jordan needs a small market to develop. Hes no Sean Williams or Greg Oden IMO.

Jordan is easily the highest risk pick in the draft. He has one of the top ceilings but he can be AWFUL for this team. And now you want to talk about him in the D'Antoni offense......................................

Yeah.

And McGee shouldent be considered in the top 10 or top 15 IMO.

DJ Augustin ... this horrified team needs a PG, to hell with BPA and go for need.

Preach it.

Hes a big reason why Durant got his shots and became the 2nd best player in college.

Augustin is just way too small and unathletic for me. I just dont see him suceeding in the pros. He may be a glorified Charlie Ward type but we cant be settling for that.

I would rather hear the death rattle of my only child than draft those 2 players with the 6th pick

I'm hoping that we take one of them because if we do that means they have the personality to be a winner, i expect that we will interview our potential draft picks and make sure they have winning personalities.
