Reddick cant get his shot off because he sucks. he airballed a layup for christ sakes. Curry gets double teamed constantly and he still drops 44. There's your difference.

Whats the difference between Chase Budinger and Reddick? Athleticism.

If you don't think athleticism helps guards you are an idiot. Sorry.

Chris Paul and Deron Williams are VERY athletic. It may not look like it all the time though.

Deron Williams is no more athletic than Stephen Curry. Paul has quickness, but he is even smaller and weaker than Curry is. Yet both still score and pass.

Please stop posting.

Chris Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph35BzTRJ9o :o 1:12 mark game over
Deron Williams: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqmwiu2IOxw :o 1:44 mark

You sounding VERY foolish. Curry WISHES for athleticism like Williams and Paul.

Ok? So they can dunk? You sound like a dumbass. How does being able to dunk make a good Pg? Is nate a good Pg? Not really....and nate is more athletic than both of them combined.

I see the JJ Redick thing when I look at curry also, I said it in the last discussion about Curry. I think the one thing that is different with the two, is that JJ was shooting and Steph is scoring, they ran JJ off picks all day, thats how JJ was getting his looks, Steph makes his looks once you can do that and shoot with the effectivness that Curry has, then you have something. So while I think there is a good chance that Steph might be JJ rt 2, if Curry is successful it would be because of that fact.

 seems to be the only thing you can say.

My statements still stand. Curry is atheletic as Williams. That being said, its not important for a guard.

If Curry was as athletic as either he'd be a top 5 pick. In reality he is NOT. Im bookmarking this thread till workouts in June.

You obviously just hear that Curry can shoot and think he sucks at everything else. Actually watch him play for once.

I have seen him play. Did I say he sucks?

I said he is NOT a lottery pick AND is a SG posing as a PG.

I never said he was a lotto pick either....If you read my posts I said either late lotto or late teens. I guess his Pg skill which is what we disagree about

How can some one with his high skill level be drafted so LOW. Its because of his lack of athlecism.

No, because its his questionable ability to run the point...his athleticism is fine

I like Curry and think he'll be successful in the NBA but not running the point in Mike D's system. If you want a skinny tall PG with a great shot who could actually run this system look at Nick Catheles, he isn't as good creating his own shot as curry but he's the best floor general I see in college ball. He's just so smart and so aware of where his team-mates are and where they should be going to. Plus at 6'5" he's a very long PG who'll be able to overcome his lack of great athleticism defensively as well.

Curry would be a good compliment to LeBron if we had LeBron running our offense, A) i'm not sure that's a gamble we should take, spending a lotto pick on a guy who compliments a guy we might be signing in teh future? and B) I'm not even sure if we had LeBron we wouldn't still want to run our offense through a PG.

He might be as quick but he doesn't have Deron's power which is what made deron such a sick athlete, he was as quick as most any guard around and had the power to push around 2 guards.

Whoever thinks Stephen Curry will not be a lottery pick is completely clueless. One of the top qualities that scouts look for in prospects is their ability to win. Any college player that plays well in tournament games gains A LOT of respect from scouts and sees a dramatic increase in his draft stock.

That is why players like Sean May, Channing Frye, and Rashad McCants were drafted in the lottery. Curry has consistently carried his team to the tourney where he always plays his heart out.

As for the comparisons, none of them hold true:
1. Salim Stoudamire averaged 18 ppg his senior year and was known as nothing more than a 3 point specialist. Curry averaged 22 ppg his freshman season and can score in a variety of different ways.

2. JJ Reddick was a big scorer, but only because of the plays that were set for him. Coming out of the draft, scouts questioned whether or not he could create his own shot. Also if his shot wasn't falling, he was nowhere to be found. Neither of these apply to Stephen Curry.

3. Eddie House was nowhere near as efficient as Curry in any of his years at Arizona state. He was also not a major scorer until his senior year where he only shot 42% from the field.

I'm not saying Curry will definitely be a star player, but he's not just some scrub scorer.

I agree that Curry's getting bashed a lot on this board and could be a vey nice player in the right situation. That said this is not the right situation. Curry will probably never be enough of a floor general for Mike D to play him as his point guard and I just think starting Curry as a two is just asking for trouble defensively and you'll wear him out/rack up the fouls on him that'll take away from his ability to be a versatile scorer.

When a team/player knows what is coming and can do little to stop it, seems to me that the skill level is HIGH!

I dont know what not to like about his game! But he seems like a system player, he'd be a beast in D'Antoni's system, especially in drive kick situations, bigger more athletic players would bother him, but if Boobie Gibson can get buckets in the league, I am damn sure Curry can!
