Apologies if posted already, but Hahn has just put out an update claiming that there is no deal in the works, and indeed no substance to this rumor at all:

"In fact, let's go ahead and blow this one out of the water. From what we're led to believe, the Knicks haven't talked to the Kings about Miller."

Miller would be fantastic in D'Antoni's system.

14 pages on a month old rumor with no substance.

We should probably stand pat. We have 13 good contracts (Even Steph at this point is a 30 game contract only) and 2 bad ones (Curry. JJ). The rest are expiring, 1 year left or rookie contracts.

We hold matching rights on Nate and Lee and I believe they do both want to be in NY.

Why not let it play out for one more offseason. We are in the drivers seat for now. In the meantime, Jeffries and Curry could show some ability and as their contracts get shorter they are easier to trade.

The only trades I touch at this point are Jeffries or Curry for contracts shorter or same length (with a more upside on the ct).

But if they stand pat, it wont be exciting, but it maybe the best thing....

Hopefully we see the value in losses the second half of season instead of trying to squeeze juice out of a turnip.

The back half article in his blog reality sets in more and more. Curry has the franchise by the balls right now.

TKF: I would also be perfectly happy to stand pat, or perhaps look to acquire some low cost backcourt help in a very minor deal.

For the long term we need to move Curry and/or Jeffries, and to resolve our situations with Lee and Nate, but all of this can be done in the offseason. No rush. We all know that Walsh is famous for his patience. He isn't going to make a bad or pointless deal now, just for the sake of making a deal.

I agree, I am content to wait and let donnie make his moves this summer. No need to make deals like this. smaller deals to fill in some holes, low risk, high reward type of moves is all I am looking for...

Well it obviously cannot be Rose for Miller straight up because it does not work salary wise.

The only way I would consider it is if we end up trading Rose and Jeffries for Miller.

Brad Miller is much more valuable to this team that Malik Rose.

it would probably be

Brad Miller + Douby
for
Malik Rose + Tim Thomas/Jerome James

or

Brad Miller + Sheldon Williams
for
Malik Rose + Tim Thomas/Jerome James + Roberson

Beyond what Miller might be able to do on the court, I think Walsh needs to show he's not sitting on his butt, with regards to next season. Right now, a bunch of fans are 'resigned' to waiting for 2010. That's not going to sit well with the owner, who still expects a packed house next season.

He'd be a lot more useful than than the apple cobbler eatin Curry...

Just saying.

I actually like Brad Miller. He be a great passer in the Mike D type of system. Something Curry has no concept of even if he did play. Seems Curry is turing into Jerome James Pt2
