Mobley's contract

I apologized if this has been asked already but I was just reading the transcript of Hahn's chat and he said that Mobley's contract is being paid by insurance due to his retirement. If that's the case, that means that this summer we'll have an expiring deal being paid by insurance similar to the LaFrentz contract although a little smaller in size. I think that would be a tremendous asset to have as teams scramble this summer to cut costs. Can someone confirm this?

This is what I've always thought as well.

Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to do this for Jerome James.

Regardless, we have some pretty nice expirings next season (Al, Mobley, JJ, Q, TT, Duhon, and maybe Lee / Nate if they take the QO this year).

I was referring to Big Snacks, not Effries.

Lee and Nate are RFA's this year, so they could either take the qualifying offer NY gives them (2.68 for Lee, 2.9 for Nate), or they could wait for an offer sheet from another team which NY has the ability to match.

Taking the QO this year makes them UFA's in 2010.

o alright yea i dont see us doing that with lee or nate and jerome would proabbly be a nice trading piece next year
