So how did Sims look in garbage time?

Post#1 » by 2010 » Thu Apr 9, 2009 1:48 am

I couldn't watch the game but how did Sims look in extensive garbäge time? I see he had a nice rebound/minutes ratio. Can someone tell me how he looked athletically as well as skillwise?

Better than Jeffries, that's for sure.

He had some nice moves around the basket but he's rail thin.

He looked mediocre, a bit timid, and rather lost out there. The second two are understandable though, and may have led to the first one.

Most of the rebounds he got seemed to fall into his lap though. He didn't look like he was doing anything outstanding to grab them.

He is lanky, but gets his arm on guys on defense. He is active in defensive rotation. He seems to have a pretty good touch around the basket. I like what I see as a backup center.

Crawford looked okay too. Some bad (probably nervous shots.) But, he drove to the rim showing adequate athleticism, and did finish at the basket with a guarded from behind dunk.

Actually, he looked like a real Center. Contested a few shots, boxed out and rebounded well for the limited time he played. Scored a few points. He has that old David Lee syndrome when he attempts to score in the paint. Goes up a bit to soft and holds the ball low, thus a smaller player can block his shot easily. When my Center gets the ball down low, I want to see him go up with some force. Dunk that ball , It was his first game so I have to cut him some slack.

I give him a B + for his first game.

He looked smaller, and softer, than advertised. But it's been one game. I need to see more. One thing I'm starting to learn, the D-League sucks...

I missed most of the end but saw early action on Sims. Put it this way, I miss Jackie Butler and Randolph Morris...Hopefully Sims is on the roster in the summer so we can see more.
