no just go to "tools", options, private data, settings, check off "cache" and then press clear now....in firefox...

In Internet Explorer should be something similar....btw, I would highly recommend Firefox if you don't have it.

For internet explorer...

I have firefox, love it. especially with the aps. I have AVG anti-virus doing my scans. Should I have anything else, or should I put a timer for Spybot and CCleaner to run?

A recently discovered an APP called "Any Color" for FireFox, it's great..you can switch the color of the browser to any color you desire.

that should be good enough....and you don't really need those timer but its good to have if you want to be super safe but just remenber those are also spywares so if you run a spyware program its going to read those programs as spywares....

Depending on the type of Pop-Up you're receiving, this may relate to you:

Also, make sure you have the AdBlock and NoScript Plug-Ins for FireFox, they help fortify FireFox GREATLY.

Don't use Spybot search and destroy - It does more harm than good.

If you want to clean your system using freeware download Spyware Terminator... If for whatever reason that does not fix the problem - You're gonna wanna download a program called Combofix which is a self running program that will clean out your system through DOS.

Good luck, if you have any questions - email me.

EDIT* Also, as many others mentioned CCleaner is a nice tool, I use it mostly to clean up my registry - Not remove spyware.
