Fixed :( :( :(

No. It was Kevin Love, they didn't have OJ Mayo at the time.

An intelligent agent wouldn't throw him in that FA class where there's far too much better talent to expect 10 milli a year.

actually it can work out to his favor. After Amare and Bosh what great YOUNG bigs will be available?

Yup, I think some 2-3 tier players have a chance to get paid in 2010.

LeBron and Wade will probably reup this summer, and Bosh/Amare may switch teams.

There will be a lot of teams with a bunch of money they'll have to spend.

This is probably one of those instances where Chris Reina would prefer not having his theoretical salary value used in discussion. USD18 million/year is David Lee's value?

Given how the Knicks have joined the tank late this season, I find it hard to believe that teams are going to take Lee's numbers at face value.

Guys, bow to the might of the Wiretap. Note this line:
RealGM Note: Lee is currently ranked 11th in season FIC and has a Reina Value of +911%, which means he 'deserves' a salary of approximately $18M.

According the word known as the Reina Value, Lee deserves a salary of $18M a year. Lee is giving us a discount at $10/million a year, if the Wiretap is to believed.

He's earned what's coming to him. NOT 5-6 mil per year. He WILL get 8-10 Mill per year. And you can take that to the bank!!!!!!!!!!

I would agree with that.

I think 10MM per, is the absolute high end with him though. I don't think Walsh is going to approach that. Which is why I think the QO is a very real possibility with him. Same with Nate. Many are skeptical about that here. But I think it's a real possibility. I bandied figures of 9.5 per and 6.5 per with Lee and Nate respectively, as the absolute high end I would go. I don't think Walsh would go there. Though both guys have said they love it here, and would love to stay. Hometown discount? We shall see...

Assuming that they want to keep him, I'll still offer a deal that would pay him an average of $8 million over five, starting low (around $6.5) with a player opt-out after two or three seasons. That way, if he continued to improve, he could opt-out, and get even more than $10 million a season - and at a point after which the Knicks would ideally have added their key FAs.

We can't afford to have a losing season next year. Our 2010 draft pick goes to Utah so we better make the playoffs next season.

^ That makes no sense. We don't have the pick no matter what so what sense does it make if we win or lose. It's a bad trade to begin with, and if they end up with a top tier pick the trade just goes worst to an all time worst.

I think maybe a potential deal would be a S&T Lee to Oklahoma City(Fits that team nicely as a complementary piece for Westbrook, Durant, Green) for the unprotected Suns pick in 2010 that they have. It really is a nice deal for both teams IF the Knicks do not bring back Lee and look for a pick for 2010. Plus Lee goes to the Western Conference so we don't have to see him more than twice a year.

Chris Paul / Patrick Beverley / Shamorie Ponds
Buddy Hield / Timothy Luwawu / Stanley Johnson
Kendrick Nunn / Matisse Thybulle / Darius Miller
RJ Barrett / Kyle Kuzma / Dwayne Bacon
DeAndre Jordan / Kenrich Williams / DJ Wilson

Someone said 50 over 6...that sounds about right. I am hoping Walsh swings some deals and makes room for Lee so as to not hurt the cap too much. Definitely want to keep him in NY. Homegrown talent has been too scarce.

His apparent salary demands are not as ridicules as you Knick fans think; there are currently over 60 NBA players making more than $10 million per year.

Yeah....but half of those that got $10 mil were overpaid a few years back when Teams were overpaying to keep 2nd/3rd Tier FAs at 1st/2nd Tier FA prices.

When we are talking about $10 mil a year players in today's market.....we're talking about players like Granger, Monta, Biedrins, Josh Smith, Bynum type players.....basically 2nd tier Top Players in the league below the likes of the top Stars of the league like CP3s or Deron Williams.

I'm with most of you here on the Knicks board....he's definitely earned it, he's a key player in the Knicks for the foreseeable future....but I don't feel that he's worth $10 mil a year.....maybe $8-9 mil a year for 5 years.
