'09-'10 FINAL FANTASY RESULTS!

Okay gang, let's use this as the preliminary sign up thread for whatever spots are open in this season's fantasy leagues. I will fill them accordingly. If you qualify for a certain league, you will get an invite. I'm in the process of figuring out the lineups for each league. The Champions H2H league is a bit more complicated because we have to make room for 2 managers who were shut out of last season's league. So I won't post the lineup for that league yet. We'll send the invites out, and then see how that goes.

We'll run 5 leagues again this season. 1 Champions H2H, 1 Champions Roto, 2 D-League H2H, and 1 D-League Roto. There will be a few openings in the D-Leagues, but they fill up quite fast. Open spots will be filled by whatever waiting list existed from last season, and the chronological order of signups here. I'll also maybe condense signups from last season's fantasy thread. Please be patient. The leagues get bigger every year, and we try to do out best. As per usual, they are very competitive, and normally time-consuming. Please be considerate of the other managers who take these leagues seriously.

Here's the list of this season's Champions Roto league...

1. mjhp
2. SupremeTEAM-Ralphie
3. NY Nicks and Dimes (eksentric)
4. Ben's Ballers
5. bishnykfan
6. Hopprich Vogels (zinoviev)
7. krazydemons
8. Parraknick
9. ManiaX
10. Dplan
11. the biznuts (bizness?)
12. Chaos Theory (Smoke24)

I believe biznuts was one of those supposed to be in last year's Champions H2H league. So I'll give him the option of where he wants to be. You can only join one league! Past and present commissioners are the only ones afforded the courtesy of joining more than one league. There is some attrition every season, so more spots can open up. Again, please be patient. We'll give qualifiers 2 weeks to sign in, and then we'll start moving the 'replacements' up. So the leagues have to fill up from the top down. The drafts for the various leagues will be held roughly a week before the regular season. All the leagues will have stock Yahoo settings. Further discussions of the draft date can be held in each individual league, if a majority wants a change (but the settings stay the same!). A quick primer: the top 9 finishers in each league get invited back, and the 3 top finishers from the minor leagues will get a call up. The bottom 3 finishers in each league get demoted. Once more, we'll invite the Champions H2H managers first before publishing the list here because we had a slight mix up last season.

So sign in here, check your PM's, and please be patient. If you qualified for a spot, you WILL get an invite. Here's to another great season.

No, there is no connection between this board's leagues and any other.

Id like to get back in the Champions League if theres a dropout or a league expansion. I was a former member of the league and always finished between 2-6th place, plus my incessant smack talking was integral to maintaining an adequate fun level. I probably havent been in a league in 4 or 5 years now.

So if I had to start in the D-League and wax those teams to move up, I'll do it.

Oh ok, can you put me on the waiting list for D-League H2H and Roto? I don't have a preference.

Fat Kat: yes, you have a spot in the Champions H2H.

Rolex: which league, H2H or roto? H2H is very competitive and requires lots of work, just so you know. You'll be in one of the D-Leagues.

mugz: yes, you'll have to work your way back up. Roto, or H2H?

NYK1714: done.

blind_: what was your knickname again from last season? Was it FlashFlood, or e180th@realgm?

blind_: ah, it was Isiah Thomas and pals. I'll have to see if you make it in to the Champions League. Unfortunately, like I mentioned, there was a mixup, and 2 managers were shut out of last season's Champions squad. I will extend them the courtesy of an invite to the big league this season, like I promised. But there's always some attrition, so bear with us. You very well might get in. Just be patient, as we'll have to see if the league gets filled up with the other managers first. Thanks.

Brent: probably. Which D-League?

Guys, please specify which league you'd like to be a part of. Like I mentioned, the H2H is very competitive, and requires lots of work (daily changes for some managers!). Thanks.

I now have an H2H preference but wouldn't mind Roto, what are the chances of getting a D-League spot anyway?

H2H requires you to go up against another manager in your league, over the period of a week (after which you face a different manager the next week). At the end of the week, your stats are compiled to see which manager comes out in all the statistics tracked (like points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, FG%, FT%, treys, etc.). Each position (PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, 2 Center slots, and 2 UTILity slots) will be added up. There is no limit to the number of games played in H2H, so some managers make daily changes to their roster, to rack up more stats. In roto, you have a set amount of games played (82), so you don't have to make daily changes (just when injuries, suspensions, or bad play happens). You also don't go up against other managers in weekly bouts, instead you rack up your stats against the whole league, for the whole season. So you could theoretically set your lineups for the year, and just leave it if all your players are playing well. Sounds boring, but it's really not. Unless you are prepared to spend a lot more time on the game, I suggest roto, especially for newbies.

I was promised a spot in the Champions H2H. I came in second in the D-League last season (dominated the entire year and was upset in the finals). looking foreward to dominating Champions.
