A History Lesson in Al Harrington aka "Free Candy"

Just some history for those not in the loop of Mr. No Sharrington's nickname, Free Candy.
In the words of TKF.
Al, I must say this parting shot, is a idiot.In Dantoni's offense, you don't need to force shots, just look at wilson's game.. It is like stealing FREE candy... I can picture a young al, stealing free candy, they said it is free but he is shoving his pockets , shoes, and mouth full of candy, trying to steal as much free candy as he can.. this is what he is doing in Dantoni's offense..

I wish he was that greedy on defense. Defense is the time to be greedy and selfish.

He used to be and then he met Nellie ball and defense wasn't as important anymore. Maybe it was that taste of freedom he had in ATL too. He came in the league as great defensive player, if he could ever get that fire back on that side of the ball he would be a very tough player to contend with.

Yeah I was going to say, I recall him being a solid defender out of high school. Found range on his jumper and gave it up I guess. Back in the day it was simple. No D no PT.

yea, I could never understand Free candy.... In this offense, it is designed to get you quick shots and plenty of them, if you move the ball and move your body.. this guy just jacks up shots from anywhere at anytime.. He is stealing in this offense.. stealing free candy.... someone should point him to this thread..

I'd have a problem IF he wasn't one of the more efficient players we had on the team (offensively). The guy just happens to get it done in less time than most. His passing can and hopefully will improve; it seemed to take a step back (his team play) once Tim Thomas was traded.
