Voting isn't the epitome of "political involvment". Considering both the major parties are practically the same regardless of how much they try to act otherwise, and neither give af about black ppl, it's not surprising how apathetic they are towards voting.

Largely in so yes, American politics are very narrow and the media plays a role in sensationalizing the differences. They're both Capitalist, right wing parties. The Democrats currently are more right wing than Repubs 40 yrs ago. The foreign policy of both parties are the same, which is the best reflection of what they actually believe in.
Most of the outside world understands that too, there's an illusion of choice here. And as a black man, I know neither have my slightest interest in mind regardless of lip service. Rights and economic standing for black people is just as bad now as it was in 1967 (Pre-Segregation) for multiple important metrics, and worse in others.
