Does Magic even have roster spot for training camp?

Re: Magic Sign G Joel Ayayi
Why do we keep signing all these players knowing that they can’t make the main roster? Is this to fill our G league team?

Essentially yes. It's a way to get guys to Lakeland, nothing more than that.
Exhibit 10 deals feature bonuses of between $5,000 and $50,000 that kick in when the player is waived and they report to the team’s G League affiliate for at least 60 days.
Basically you can expect to see Joel Ayayi, Simisola Shittu, Zavier Simpson, Drake Jefferies all playing for Lakeland provided they don't get a bigger guarantee to play overseas.

So am I the only excited that we are giving him a chance? Really liked his game at Gonzaga and who knows maybe reuniting with suggs can help both of them
For the type of signing he is (exhibit 10? League min?), There's no risk in signing him

Nope, I'm on board too! I really liked him coming out of college. Really smart, do-anything player. Was very efficient in college offensively and prepared to roll his sleeves up on rebounding/defence. Very unflashy but does the right thing most of the time. Dalen Terry would be a decent stylistic comparison, in terms of that glue-guy profile.

Very good rebounder at the SG slot. That is an NBA skill. Let's see how a couple years of G-league helps him develop into a more complete asset.

Me too...I wanted him as a srp coming out...I don't really expect anything, but happy to see him in camp.

Look at the Atlanta Braves farm system - they absolutely have the best farm system in Baseball
A few years ago, the Braves kept signing all of these no names and Braves fans were all like WTF are they doing? Well during that crazy signing period they were able to find some real gems which won them a World Series.
I know basketball is a lot different than baseball but it reminds me of what the Braves did. Get as many people as possible into the farm system before anyone else knows about them.

Braves are more like Miami. they are known to really develop their players. Orlando, not so much

The Braves actually have the 27th rank farm system according to MLB.com and they have the 28th according to Bleacher Report. This was true, not anymore though.
The Braves are a great team to emulate. I just think the Minors and G-League are too different between them though. It seems you could find some stars from the Minors in baseball, even lower ranked prospects. In the NBA, you might be able to get a couple of good role player years out of a G-Leaguer.
But, there'a no harm in checking some players out and see if they can stick. So it's not a big deal one way or the other to me.
