That reminds me of when NOLA was hit by Hurricane Katrina years ago. Once everything settle down, these car lots whose lost their inventory would get to a point they would scam these cars off their inventory as "operational" so they can make some money off what they loss. Causing the real victims to lose their money's worth as they're driving a damaged vehicle from hurricane stricken cities. That's going to happen again in this case.

Insurance premiums will be rough too. I should probably start planning an exit strategy from this state in a couple decades...

My insurance has went way up the last two years before this.

I had hail damage like 6 months ago and it's still in litigation to settle on a price. When they originally came out the adjuster said no damage and then I had to hire a public adjuster to represent me and now the insurance company agrees there was damage.

Unfortunately, I think my insurance co. would've eventually dropped me if I did nothing. You can't get insurance and insurance companies can drop you if your roof is over 10 years old.

I told the lawyer to get as much as they can because I feel like the insurance company wasn't acting in good faith.
