Re: Draft 2023
I think all our players think all of you negative fans are full of crap. To hear them all talk they don’t seem to think they are going to be that bad. I think they know their potential a little better then you all do! I think I will listen to them.

Re: Draft 2023
The flattening of the odds helps us out. We could win 30 games and have like around 14% chance of Scoot or Wembanyama. Unlikely...but not out of the blue.

You are right.
A lot of doom and gloom here.

Re: Draft 2023
The draftniks are starting to say Wembanyama is in the conversation of Lebron as a prospect. Like best prospect since, and at least an argument who was the better prospect of the two.
I mean the injury risk of tall guys is terrifying, but wow the needle has moved like all the way to the right. Going to be really curious how aggressive teams are going to tank given the reduced odds.

Victor Wembanyama is very, very, very ,very ,very talented.
But he isn't today as good as people think based on revional games that have no meaning. He was playing Euroleague on start of 2022 and simply wasn't all that good against pros. ( he actually sucked...)
He was better in French regular season & national league but still wasn't as dominant.
Put him in college hoops and he probably crushes competition due size & complete lack of size of opponents, but after those exibition games people got unrealistic expetations for him.
In serious basketball he won't be running slip screen action and shoot off balance 3s nor pullout 3s. Or at least you hope your team isn't that bad where those things are options.
He has that freak factor and is incredible to see person of that size move around with grace, but at some point you have to move from wow factor and decide how execlly he is best used. Running offense, shooting off balance 3s isn't that. Putting ball on the floor at half court isn't that. That complete lack of actual purpose is what ruined Bol Bol's career. He could do things people of his size couldn't, but in same time he couldn't do things people of his size should .
I'm not comparing them, Victor is generatonal talent, but every since he dropped 37 points people started project things that aren't there (yet?). is he better prospect than Lebron? No. He isn't better prospect than Luka. Guys who play with ball will in today's era always have more value than ones who don't.

I agree with you.
I think Victor is a very special prospect, but I'd rank him behind LeBron and Luka for sure.
I'd rank him behind Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson as well.
But still, to be the 5th best prospect in like 25 years is no joke.

Unless something really weird happens during the upcoming year, Whitehead won't be available for the Chicago pick but he could be in play for us. If we think he can play the two, he makes sense. Gradey Dick is someone I potentially like for the Bulls pick depending on how the season goes. His shooting could replace Ross or Harris if we move on from them.

I’d put Paolo as a better prospect than anyone in the 23 draft. We got lucky. His size/skill set/iq/athleticism is pretty much unparalleled. Our 23 draft picks should be traded.

I’d take Victor or Scoot over PB and it’s not even close. Victor is generational. Scoot has certain attributes that fall into the Elite category. PB is good, but not great. He’d go 3 or 4 in 2023
