This game couldn’t have been a better outcome.

Despite the bad officiating, they get their composure. Vuc missed too and then Jalen Suggs showed why he was drafted #5.

This feels great.

I have watched the shot on a couple angles and for me it is clear that Suggs was hit in his shooting hand on the shot. Where was the foul call there?

Players with that kind of heart and will to win come around every so often. You guys got two in the 2021 draft.

I would also say Jalen's progression is coming on fast not slow. I've watched the game for close to 40 years and it usually takes point guards a few years to understand the NBA game, get used to the further 3pt line, and adapt to the pace of the game. Jalen is what 60 games in? He hasn't even played a full season.

Take this last 2 minutes..

Defends Vucevic on a switch into a miss.
Barely misses a 3 to go up 5 (jumper is looking wet btw)
Then goes too quick and doesn't wait for the WCJ screen.. then misses WCJ out on the 3 and gets his shot blocked (he looked sped up all night and still shows youth and inexperience).
Comes back and makes an excellent dive to the basket beating Ayo for the offensive rebound.. draws the foul and makes both FT's.
Knocks the ball out of Derozan forcing the Bulls to inbound the ball again.
Then hitting the step back 3 from the exact spot he missed the last one.. all net.
Then tells the whole city of Chicago to go home.

And you want to give up on this guy and trade him or not include him in your future plans?

The dude clearly wanted to win more than any one in that building last night. And not that anyone else didn't want that W either it's that Jalen's capacity for competitiveness is larger than most players. When you combine that with skill, toughness, and athleticism you get a player that comes up big every time the game is on the line. Sorry, that's rare and you don't get rid of guys like that.

Why nobody talks about the block Suggs got on Vuc? It was epic. And I have a strong feeling if Suggs actually scored on his double spin attack in the 3rd there would be no Bulls comeback at all, we would be up 20 with all the momentum in our favor.

The Wagner call and a few others down the stretch.

That block was pretty sick and the 360 spinning layup was ridiculous also wish it would've dropped.

Another subtle thing I noticed is his toughness starting to rub off on the team. He had the quote about not trying to miss any more games if he didn't have too and last night listening to WCJ talk about him being banged up not being an issue with a band aid on his face are good things to see from young players. In the NBA you have to learn to play through injuries. Easier said than done when you're a Magic player because of the past.

Oh and Mosley coached his ass off those last two minutes. And watching Bol hug and hold Suggs was hilarious.

Now you hope Paolo is watching and learns when the team needs him to get his buckets.. in the 1st quarter so the team comes out strong and in the 3rd quarter so they come out strong after half time and whenever the game bogs down. You don't want him isolating too much when he doesn't have to.

It'll be interesting where you end up in the draft also.. WCJ has been playing so well and the development of Suggs and Bol will make the decision on who to draft a little harder. I think they draft a SG like Smith or later in the 1st someone like Dick. Guys that aren't going to be hard to develop. You don't need anymore ball dominant players.

Remember to stay even Steven with Suggs.... Don't get too high or too low.... As good as he was last night he isn't too far removed from that 1-8 night he put up few games ago.... Just be happy that we're starting to see some real progress and a semblance of consistency from him... Build on the small victories

Also... will we ever get an explanation for that call on Franz? Or is the league just not interested when a Bulls/Magic game is on?

Good reminder. This might be the first time in his career he's strung two good games in a row together, and even here he had 6 turnovers. Baby steps.

Looks like they reviewed it and deemed themselves correct:

The only thing they missed in the last 2 minutes was they should've called defensive 3 seconds on Bol Bol. Way to go, guys.

I went back and watched the final quarter, and it can't be understated how good Suggs was.

I've always preached patience with him because it's always been about the intangibles with Suggs. It's the motor, && it's the killer instinct that you cannot teach a player. Things that you can't always put a finger on in the box score, but are making a huge impact on the actual game. Suggs could be 1-25 with a fractured face in a game and I'd still be confident in him taking a shot with the game on the line.

It's why I always have and still do see him playing a big part in my vision for this team. When this core is ready to contend and fight for the playoffs, I just know that he is going to have some special moments. He never shies away from it, && I think he is a rare type of player who I'm glad is a part of this team.
