We have been looking for a scorer forever, we now have Banchero who is looking like a sure 25+ ppg dude in a year or two. And Franz goes along as a 20 ppg second option. We have found the key pieces, role players are much easier to find.
WCJ is good player on a great salary. Fultz can play, Suggs is coming along. Gary Harris is a solid vet. Bol Bol has talent.
There is hope. But it will take some time.

The frustration is that management is not putting those players in a position to grow and learn to compete, regardless of final score. Quite the opposite actually -- management is still trying to lose. They are holding players out, extending injury recoveries, creating a revolving door that ensures the team won't develop chemistry or continuity. 2 starters come back from injury, 2 more go out. Key bench player comes back, key bench player gets injured. It's like clockwork.
Would this team be competing for a play-in spot if fully healthy? Probably not, but the truth is no one knows how good or bad they would be. How does Suggs fit with Paolo? Who knows. How does Fultz fit with WCJ? Who knows. How does Franz look at SF with Gary Harris at SG? Who knows. If we added a veteran shooter through trade or free agency, would that help the young players' development? Who knows. And that's the way Welt likes it. No expectations, no certainty, just a giant asterisk next to the W-L record for the third straight year.
