I had to be up very early this morning so I turned the game off when it was like 117- 1 something . I think we were like 9-11 points down. I woke up this morning and could not believe we only lost by a point

I’m not upset at all with this loss especially after an emotional weekend in Boston and it being a back2back

I guess my point is to never give up watching this team because I must have missed some very solid and entertaining comeback with little time left

I think we are now a respected team in the nba which is all I could ask for. I’m thrilled with this team

We should've won.

2 things stood out in this game:

1) Franz is overrated on this board by a mile. The dude is good but unless things change never 80% as good as Hedo.

2) Bol Bol is so soft he just watches players lay it up right in front of him over and over and over.

I too said "great googly moogily" to the hot take.

I have been watching Franz and I am still trying to determine his ceiling in terms of player development.

In one hand we have a 2nd year player putting up excellent stats on a bad team. On the other hand, we have a bad team with a second year player putting up excellent stats.

The point is, usually some veteran by the name of Mike James who averages 9ppg over their career comes in and puts up this number on a dead beat team. The fact that we are relying on a 2nd year player to do it is impressive.

The foul in the end was unfortunate, but I don't think we deserved the win anyway, we played horrendous D for most of the game, especially when Cole and Ross were on the court, and the game was close late largely because the Hawks did their best to shoot themselves in the foot in the last 3 minutes. Imressive fight by our team regardless.

Finally an actual great game by Fultz. If he plays like that more often, he will win even me over one day. But I still have my doubts. It all depends if his 3 ball efficiency this season is a fluke or not and whether he'll start taking 3s more than once in a blue moon.

Kudos to Kevon Harris for his D late, it almost won us the game.

I need someone to explain to me why Fultz' 3pt shot looked fine there when he had to rush it

My theory is that Fultz still has his old midrange form, which he can extend to about 20 feet, beyond that he probably struggles to hit the rim, so he has to change to his former outside shot, but that old shooting motion likely triggers his Tos or causes numbness during the shot so instead he developed that slow release 3 point shot he's using today.

That 22 foot jump shot he hit looked good because he used his midrange form, which he was able to extend a bit because he was in stride.

I was hoping he'd be able to extend his mid range form to the corner three but so far he's still using the slow release.

BTW his 3pt% would be look a lot better if he didn't shoot end of shot clock heaves, I think he he led the league in those a few years ago and even made a full court shot with one of them.

I still think there's a mental aspect. He hit a normal looking pull-up from basically right on the 3 point line.

That's interesting, and certainly possible. I really don't know outside of him just appearing to be very comfortable when he shoots the ball and nothing looks wonky outside of how he pushes more with his 3 pt shot. Steph does that sometimes. You can see his hesitation to shoot the three or take a shot at times but last nights game was not that. It was clear he was given the green light and told to be aggressive. I don't know that we would have seen that type of aggression without him feeling good so I'm hopeful this is just mental and something he can overcome with reps.
