He would come in as QB1, pushing Fultz out of that spot…just because FVV has successfully played next to Lowry in the past doesn’t make it an ideal pairing. SG’s who can shoot are a lot easier to find than a savvy lead PG.

I keep trying to figure out who you keep referring to when you write about "FVV"?

The only FVV that I know played for the Raptors last season and he is not a good shooter and is a ball hog (the exact opposite of a "savvy lead PG").

Not to mention that he is commonly referred to as Freddie Toast (other times Freddie Ball Hog) as he gets burnt so bad on defense.

Yeh, that is the guy I want to bring in to lead this team.

And before moving on to his "championship pedigree", that team was made up of Snow White and the 7 dwarves and Freddie Ball Hog was Grumpy. Not sure bringing in Grumpy dwarf to a young Magic team is a great fit.

do we only cherry pick 1 year out of 7? so 6 years of being a good shooter, 1 year a not great shooter dealing with injury and now he is a bad shooter? and for a ball hog, had the most apg this year in his career.

I am confused. You say that using last year's shooting data is cherry-picking and yet you then go on to use last year's assist data.

Please let me know the rule of when it is OK to use last year's data and when it is not OK, and I will follow that rule.

(Wondering if I should have posted this in "green"?)

Neither. Let someone else overpay for them.

We don’t have to spend/lock up our money long-term this summer. I like Reaves, but he’s not starting on our team. I’m not paying him big money to come off the bench. FVV is not aging well, stay away.

well, you said were obviously using last years data. calling him a ball hog when he had his highest apg rate seemed strange

Sent from my SM-G781U using RealGM mobile app

Id be ok with that

Seems win win
We try to sign him, if we do, great, we have our SG and can literally draft BPA in the draft
If we try and sign him and they max, that hurts the lakers by adding another high contract on top of all their other big money deals and will lose guys

as for FVV, im not sold on that guy being what take us from the lottery to home advantage in the 1st round of the playoffs (aka i think it might help us get to play in level, but not much more) and since hes going to require a huge max deal, im out

Who's starting over Reaves at SG if they sign him? C'mon now.

Talent wise Reaves is a starter, fit wise I feel like Suggs @ 2 wreaks a lot of havoc defensively and the fact that he can guard both ones and twos well is valuable. But maybe Reaves has solid defense, haven't watched enough of him.

I don’t think Reaves is that mobile defensively…certainly nowhere near Suggs’ level or skill defensively. Suggs’ defense is what really makes me lean towards more of a scoring PG or, more specifically, a Jamal Murray type pseudo PG who can run lethal PnR with our forwards and AND be a threat to go for 40 on any given night as a 3-level scorer. Maybe my belief in Suggs makes me so impatient with Fultz…I don’t think Reaves is that complete offensively to play that role. I could certainly be wrong but his handle doesn’t look legit to me and while his 3pt% is good, his 3ptas are pretty low, considering the gravity of LBJ and AD.

Reaves may be the next breakout star, but there are also plenty of things that might reveal him as a bust once “freed” from the superstar shadows on LAL. (His teammate, DLo, might actually be ready this time for another round with a leading role on a young team)
