George vs Cole is interesting. As prospects you'd be more confident in Cole as a playmaker, in Keyonte as a shooter. Cole projected as a score first point guard, Keyonte projects as a 3 level scoring shooting guard. Keyonte clearly has a size advantage, I don't think it's even close. I also think Keyonte is a better prospect, and I don't think it's all that close. And given the information we have on Cole after his time in the league we can generally slot him into a career as a quality role player, while Keyonte still enjoys the unknown and projects as a quality starter, 3rd or 4th best player on a championship team.

All my opinion of course.

lol what?

So Keyonte skipped combine because he didn't want scouts to know his weight and height

Going by college measurments 6'4- 185 pounds
same measurments had Cole at 6'3- 190 pounds

I simply don't understand fascionation with player that can't even create nor make any shots at college, but playing against faster ,bigger, taller players in nba will somehow help his cause?

How many unguarded 3s he made? Since he shot 33% for 3 for a season? Is your sample 6 out of 13? 5 out of 11? 4 out of 9?

As far as highschool goes, Cole averaged what? 27 points triple double there? Was such a big deal that ESPN even had "decision" for his college on live tv.

I don't understand fascionation with player who's apsolute best case scenario is Jordan Clarkson or Terry Rozier without defense. Those guys are valuable because they were non lottery picks.
Bust potential is too high for reward that isn't all that rewarding.
In the first 10 seconds of the video, it says that Keyonte was 225 lbs when he got to Baylor. You can just look at him and see he is bigger than Cole.

Rivals/IMG/24/7 had George at 185-190 lbs his senior year. so that would be scary that he gained 35 pounds before he stepped onto campus at Baylor if he was really 225 when he got there (which i seriously doubt). and then get exactly back to the weight he was before.
I think he was absolutely 225 at IMG. Look at the video

I think a lot of this is just projection of what we want him to be. He IS smallish. He is massively inefficient (to date) against NCAA competition. His beautiful shooting in unguarded workouts can be duplicated by most NBA players, especially Cole. He, IMO, looks a whole lot like rookie wild man Cole...so, it's just a matter of "what can he become?" and "how likely and when?"...just like any other college chucker that shows a strong set of skills.

I really like Hawkins a lot more at 11 (if we don't move the pick for a proven guy like Simons)...he's just got bigger JJ, Rip Hamilton, written all over him. Runs defenders ragged all game and shoots lights out. Basically a single-use critical weapon that we lack.

I cannot understand that VanVleet rumpus are rising again. I might lose my monad if the Magic sign him. He might be the least useful FA on the market for Orlando.

I was okay with FVV before the draft. now, the only way i would see it happening is if they traded Fultz and Cole. would be a good vet in the lockerroom and can play both guard spots. playing with Black, Black could get the bigger guard on defense, same with playing with Suggs. But the way this front office talks about Fultz, i dont see it happening.

Yeah, the only scenario that makes sense is a FVV for Fultz & Cole swap.

Yeah...I think that's very unlikely now. But I hope he goes to SAS or HOU, so we can sell Fultz to TOR.

I think he is but if we do get him then I believe the Magic explore trades for some other guards, like Suggs or maybe Fultz. It hurt me to type that because I like Fultz alot.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

I think with the recent moves, its clear we want positional size. Not a short guy.

Fred VanVleet Expected To Command Annual Salary Of At Least $30M.

I'm happy with Black.

I like FVV a lot and think he's very good, but the guard logjam here is already bad and adding a guy like FVV on a very large free agency deal would make it insane.

It would require not just one, but multiple existing players being moved off the team immediately.

Feels like that ship has sailed.

Agree. if we hadnt drafted a PG, then maybe. but drafting Black, i feel we need to move either Fultz or Cole, to ensure developmental playing time. Similar, im wondering how much playing time we will have for Jett, with Harris, Suggs and if Black will spend some time at SG also. I assume he will back up a bit, as they determine whether or not he can play some SF or not.

thats the problem to me with drafting 2 guards in the lottery.

i can see maybe a few min at sf for black backing when franz out his defense makes it possible anthony/suggs/black or jett same time ?

If Fultz and Anthony are both on the roster when the season begins, Anthony Black is going to play a lot more than just a little backup SF.

Phew, I feel we may of dodged a bullet as may be hard to stop the slide witnessing his play this season.

Still a trade will happen to balance the point guard situation.

Will be interesting to see if it’s Cole or Fultz and i expect them to have career games against the Magic.
