I believe Mon is the first scheduled presser after practice. Adam tweeted it sometime earlier this week.KillMonger wrote:we should be seeing something by now, they've already been practicing....i guess having no beat writer sucks in times like this
He used to be media and still gets the email updates. Sometimes, he'll give the timeline a heads up.

It looks like Jason Beede is handling Magic stuff at the moment for the Sentinel. Keep an eye on local TV reporters (Jamie Seh, etc.). But then it’s basically Phil and the other blogs.
Local Magic reporting is in the dumps at the moment.

Re: Summer League Roster
I'd probably compare Kai to Zhou Qi. Granted Zhou's time with Houston was backing up a pre-injury Capela, he's skilled and agile but surprisingly slow all of a sudden beside NBA competition. Didn't help he had a frail framefendilim wrote:jonbob17 wrote:I thought Sotto was pretty trendy prospect last year...just learning he didnt even get drafted or signed.
He is just big. Im not sure if he has the skills. Cant even doninate japan
Hoping for the best for Kai but wouldn't be holding my breath

Re: Summer League Roster
Kai has skills.. he needs to develop his body to be able to compete against nba centers.. I can honestly say he is actually better than bolbol in some aspects. He has high basketball iq and has good passing instincts. He is good defensively but needs to improve on getting rebounds.. he is lazy boxing out people but when he is in the mood he does it pretty well. His lateral quickness drastically improved from last year. If your talking about offensive skills in the post I would say he is better than chet or even wembayana no cap. he has surprisingly good footwork. Wembayana and chet is faster and has good dribbling and guard like skills but in the post I think kai has the edge. People saying he didnt dominate nbl or japan bleague didnt pay attention on his minutes per game and efficiency. He only gets 12 mins on average in nbl and average 7-8 pts . So per 30 mins that is 18-20 pts per game if given possession. He has limited touches in nbl but efficieny rating is always on top or second to top coming from the bench.
He is still like 17 years old in these clips but you can already see that he has advance footwork. Take note advance not above average. If you watch embiid , duncan, olajuwon, ewing, jokic thats advanced to elite footwork.. you can see similar moves.. you are lying if you think thats some basic footwork. If Orlando development team is good.. they can make this guy a poormans vucevic level of gameplay with better defence.
Not saying he is locked for a roster spot but you cant sleep on any player that got invited in summer league.
It wouldnt hurt orlando if they put him as a project player lol..i would bang my head if other team gets this guy and turns out to be some jokic type of player. They can just waive him if they think hes like bolbol level of improvement anyway.. shotsfired..
but i think bolbol would develop more in a different setting.. i think he needs more shooters around him in my opinion and different set of play that suites him.
