It's been clear that instead of practice we've just been shooting around.....no structure, nobody setting any real picks... Playing small ball for whatever reason pretty much losing you the game from the start... Every other team focuses on their lottery picks but us? We're trying to set up guys that's going to be playing in Russia next season.... Bad coaching..... Bad preparation...Bad roster

Magic played against teams in first two games with some good players.

All in all, this game sucked.

Yeah but there is ZERO reason why he shouldn't be running point every minute he plays. That's like sticking Dwight Howard in the corner and wondering why he's invisible on offense.

This isn’t how the team has played though. Paolo, Franz and Fultz all share playmaking duties amongst the starters. All of them play on and off the ball at points. Franz and Paolo also share playmaking duties with the 2nd unit with Cole and Suggs. Everyone got touches on our team last year and I expect that to continue.

Black will have to have an off-ball element to his game. So far he has moved well and done well. I like that he’s tried to post up at least a couple of times. Wanna see more volume in that shot though.

Let me get this straight, Orlando paid someone to put this team together and that person really thought a rebounding big was unnecessary?

I'll be interested to see if AB and Jett continue playing. They should but I'm guessing we'll shut them down.

Now imagine thinking he can play *with* Fultz.

He definitely can’t. Once he was announced at 6 I said we need to trade Fultz. I hate that, but it’s pointless otherwise.

His release point is all over the place. Gonna need a lot of work.

My thoughts exactly. Some of those shots looked like they died on their way to the basket. Not enough power behind any of them.

It’s going to be interesting to see how much they can improve that the next few months. Long way to go.

I strongly suspect, based on the last several years of data we have available to us, that the Magic consider the Summer League more of a mandatory obligation than any sort of tangible development opportunity.

I will be watching Cam and Keyonte closely. Both seemed like easy picks at 11.

Might as well shut down AB and Jett if they aren't going to be used in any meaningful capacity. Anyone on this forum could do what Dylan Murphy did tonight. There was no organization or team play from the Magic.

Keyonte is really on one this summer league. It’s like watching Donovan Mitchell blow up in summer league 6 seasons ago.

Or.. (insert 30 failed prospects too)

I want them to do well though. Well, not too well but well enough

They really do a disservice to these players that are trying to make a roster. We set them up to fail knowing that we don't put a proper team around them, so they are forced to try and do something outside of their skill sets.

A few positives:

Even though Black handled the ball less, ended with 0 turnovers. Probably made that a very big point of emphasis.

Jett being a solid assist hub through two games is very nice. Might be a really fun piece in a few years.

Keyonte isn't playing against one single nba player in that game. Indiana played 4 of their top 7 players tonight.
