Re: O'Connor: The Magic Should Trade for Jrue Holiday
Every team forum on RealGM had illusions of obtaining Jrue. If he would have been traded to Orlando, he probably would have retired. This team needs to be a contender before being alluring to players.

Provin Ya'll Wrong!!!

Some of this stuff is just assumed, ya know?
Three pointers are obviously incredibly important. They're so important so that if you're a player who doesn't take and doesn't make them, you have to be top of the food chain good at something else that's efficient offensively - like getting to the FT line.
But I didn't think that needed to be explained candidly.
Pretty sure being the best finishing PG in the league with the highest FG% among PGs is top of the food chain good at something else.

More like... "give credit where credit is due" ... cuz he deserves that....like anyone else that plays the game.

He isn't though, if I'm not mistaken he was slightly below avg at the rim (0-3 ft).
You also have to take into account his low FTr, specifically for a player who drives to the tim alot and the impact becomes alot lower.
Paolo & Franz both are good/great at attacking the rim. We need shooting especially from our PG, rather than an avg player at the rim.

You're simply not "special" at finishing at the rim if you don't draw fouls...that's the crux of all the arguments. Not a 3pt shooter (at all) and not productive at the rim...It's similar to the Gary Harris ceiling - he shoots over 40% from 3, but not on a high enough volume to be recognized around the league as a sniper. Therefore, neither should be in the long-term plans in more than a limited role and paid accordingly (by someone else). I think Fultz will get his chance to show out this Fall...I wish him (and team ORL ) the very best, but there's more than a few tiny things that need fixing to be a serious starting PG in this league.
