The defense is absolutely real. Teams are going to hate playing us. I really believe we have a top 3-5 defense.

The development of Franz. He's becoming a legitimate player on offense. He's getting some recognition that will put Orlando on the map.

The development of Suggs. He makes watching defense fun. Dare I say more fun than any form of offense. He's elite on that side.

This team actually likes each other and you can tell. It doesnt feel like a bunch of mercenaries looking for a paycheck like it did in previous seasons.

I agree with the bolded part. Unless you are the Lakers/Heat when you know that if Suggs even breathes on them, they will call a foul on us.

It's tough to win on the road especially on a young team going out west as soon as the season starts. I don't recall the Magic starting a west coast trip this early.

Looking at this statement relative to the Utah win, this was thus a very nice W.

Suggs just reminds me of that chihuahua that won't let go of your ankles as it tries to gnaw off your foot.

During individual games over the course of an 82 game season teams are going look bad. I thought we looked terrible against the Clippers...maybe we are still too early in the season and some of the guys stamina isn't quite there yet. Really i thought we should have taken that one, I didn't catch most of the Laker game, but going in seemed like one ripe to steal, and the part i did see in the 2nd quarter we looked in control....oh well, can't win them all.

The positive. we are 3-2. All teams are going to have bad games...particularly this year with so much parity...Used to be the best teams could still count on blow out wins when they rested their players. This year if they do rest, and it seems like teams still are resting guys, they are going to pay a price...which is going to be a positive for the Magic when we tally up all the wins and losses.

Some people would rather have a starting 5 of all Darrell Armstrong's than a winning team. :banghead:

You’re extremely annoying these days.

Who do you like on this team and why?

I like Fultz, Jett, Franz, Paolo, WCj, Isaac, Mo because I think they are good players. I just don't think they are the right combination of players to make this team a championship caliber team.

Fultz plays with control, poise, and is a clutch player who can get a bucket anywhere inside the paint or create for others.
Jett is the only thing that sort of makes me happy from this offseason, but I don't want to overhype myself about him yet.
Franz, everybody loves Franz.
Paolo, I wish his 3 pointer would be farther along but he's our biggest hope right now. If he gets better, stars will want to play with him.
WCj is a guy I would prefer coming off the bench. It would reduce his injury proneness, but his contract is so nice, you gotta love it.
Isaac off the bench right now is the perfect place for him.
I love Mo's energy and enthusiasm for the game. It rubs off on the rest of the team.

I honestly think this team will really start rolling once Jett is in the starting lineup. Suggs shoots and dribbles with 2 left eyes.

It's painful to agree with you (somewhat) but if Fultz IS the PG, Jett might be the scorer we need next to him.

Why are the losses depressing when we know we have only a small chance of winning? It should be expected.

Because we've been rebuilding since 2012, we've blown many draft picks, and it seems pretty clear that we don't have the right front office to end this ludicrously long rebuild.

Uh we finally got our PB pick right. Not to mention Franz and Suggs. What did you expect, we will be world beaters with our junior and sophonore players?

The jury is still very much out on Suggs, not even remotely a proven (or reliable) player yet. And as for what I expected, to not still be relying on junior and sophomore players after over a decade of rebuilding. In fact, outside of Banchero and Franz, we don't have a single player on this roster that doesn't have major question marks, and even those two are young and unproven. What matters is how you compete in meaningful (playoff) games, so until we finally get there we won't know what those two offer when it matters most. Maybe they'll be elite, maybe the pressure will get to them like it has to so many other players in NBA history. We'll have to wait and see.

The point is that after so many years of rebuilding the roster should be in a better state than it is, much better. We shouldn't have question marks everywhere. What we need is a new front office but that's not going to happen.

Its always a hit or miss. That goes with all rebuilds or teams gambling to go " all in" look at CHI gambling with Vuc DDR and Lavine, look at BKN gambling with Kyrie KD and Harden... then you go for rebuilds like DET HOU PHI in t he past decade... DET fumbled that Hayes pick, HOU fumbled that Green pick ¡ PHI fumbled that Ben and Fultz pick etc etc etc.

Also, every great player has question marks even when they become vets.
