Should Orlando Magic take a chance on Kai Jones?

Post#1 » by T-Cat » Thu Nov 23, 2023 3:46 pm

Just listen to this video and Kai Jones is full of energy/confidence! We should immediately surround this guy with Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Isaac, if Orlando is interested in him! Honestly he's all over the place IMO!

He does mention a franchise is interested in him at the moment and Orlando has been good with finding guys under the radar such as Fultz, The Wagner Bros. and Goga!

We can't even find playing time for Goga in a month. Kai is done. Cooked. Sad. He is good. Unfortunately he will be blackballed and be overseas ballin soon. He is not Magic material anyways.

I mean, sure, if he is willing to go to the G league, I guess. Could be a nice 3rd string option if we decide to trade WCJ or any future injuries to one of our bigs. Otherwise we are set for now.

As a business decision, the Magic should have a developing big on a 2 way contract.

I don't care for the current 2 way configuration as I believe that have mostly guys in an area they are really deep (G/F).

I think that they should have a developing PG, a wing, and a big all on 2 way contracts.

If he is willing to play on a 2 way, then great.

No. He's not worth the drama. I dont know if its drugs or mental illness or both but i dont want this guy on this team anymore.

Sooo.... we have Paolo Franz JI and MoeSwag in that 3-4 spots. With Houstan and Jett just itching to play. Why would we be bringing him to our team?

Watch the video.

I watched 3/4th of it and he does not come across as cray cray as the media reports.

Not saying I want him on the NBA team, but the G league team on a 2 way would be a reasonable risk.

Not worth the drama. Obviously the guy **** up, and now he is clinging to dear pife. Obviously prepared to do the podcast.

Nonetheless, he doesnt seem to have the high bball iq type of plyer that WePark is looking for

We could give Kai Jones the Markelle Fultz/Bol Bol treatment bring him in and have him know our staff and organization for the rest of the season while playing in the G League on a reasonable contract! Then have him earn his real NBA minutes next season!

It's a low risk, high reward deal!

If he asked for a trade because he couldn’t get minutes with the Hornets, why would he want to come to the Magic?

Because it's the Hornets organization with no real leadership nor direction! Orlando and San Antonio are one of the few places players can go to salvage their careers!
