Wow, did not see that coming, awesome news.

I had figured he hadn't scored enough, but his all around play has been stellar. And he's only just turned 21!

There is a reason I voted for him to have the last vest. I think we have gotten used to his overall production in a sea of other players sharing the scoring burden.

In reality, he is performing at a high level on both ends.

I hardly ever vote for the vests. Looking at stats can sway the vest vote very easily. It's obvious in almost every game that Banchero or Franz deserves almost every vest. Without those 2 being the players they are we're not winning as much. Not to say that there hasn't been some stellar defense or scoring from a handful of guys and some great all around team play but without Banchero or Franz we're a completely different team. The opponents know this and they focus on them. Regardless of the statistical production from Banchero or Franz we don't win nearly as many games without them.

Yeh: over these 4 games, individually Banchero was rarely the best player. And our vest award is not some sort of rolling average.

But as a reflection, it does make sense!
