Joe Ingles gave the Magic's video assistant who has the game on replay on his laptop to tell Coach Mose to challenge or not a great job after the 2nd successful challenge.

Got the whole team to clap him up, and then got the whole section sitting behind the bench to give him an applause as well

Telling you, Joe is going to be a head coach someday.

Black, Franz, Paolo.

Normally for me I would probably put Paolo + Franz up there. Since this is a real breakout performance by Black though I am going to give him the nod. At least on the replay some of the TO were at least in my humble opinion. Rookie mistakes that if he handled the ball more to begin with he might have no mad half of them.

Overall a strong performance worthy of the sweater. Even if Franz wins it in the end.

Easily Franz for me. Black was excellent scoring wise and played well on defence, but had too many horrible turnovers and only one assist. Franz was great in every area, very solid on D, efficient 28 points, 9 assists and only 2 turnovers and we clearly played much better when he was on the court.

Relax some, AB legitimately had a breakout game tonight minus the turnovers (yes Franz deserves the vest). I'm supporting the rook, hope he keeps it up.

I'll give turnovers a pass much like i'll give turnovers a pass to Paolo or Franz on a given night still voting for the vest.

Otherwise, Paolo + Franz have this wonderful habbit of quietly finding their way to their averages. If one of them becomes hot, they noisily find their way to 30+.

Franz had a better overall game but I think we potentially lose or it gets way more interesting if Black doesn't overperform.

5 TO should disqualify you from the vest. Some of them were horrid.
Great shooting though.

Paolo has won with 8 TO before.

Franz and Paolo beating up on one of the worst teams in the league is to be expected. Put those numbers up against Boston and I’ll give you the vest. Against Washington/Detroit/etc, then that’s just your job.

Black leading the team in scoring through the first 3 quarters of the game and shooting 4-6 from deep is playing well above his standard. But Black is one of those guys people just don’t want to give credit to.

This sentiment is justified, Black's usage is below Harkless' when he was here and averages 12 points per 100 possessions. He is arguably the single biggest reason why the Magic's offense is 19th in the league considering the volume of minutes he plays and the lack of spacing he provides.

This trade wasn't some conspiracy - it was just a GM wanting AD bad enough where in most people's eyes he overpaid by a long shot to get him.

Super happy AB played well, I've backed him the whole year.
BUT he was not the most valuable player.
I wouldn't say that his play was above HIS standard or mine.
Bet he's pissed about those TOs and Poole cooked him a bunch.
He'll get a vest, but lets not make it "just because".
Franz nearly had a triple double, lead the team in Pts, Rebs, Assists, FT attempted, FT Made, Min and +/-.

And the team's defense is 4th best in the league with a drtg of 110.5, while Black and the SL have a drtg of 105.9. So where he pulls the avg down on the ortg, he makes up for on the defensive end which is why he's a net + player. He also only plays 20mpg, so there's a limit on how much he's crippling the offense when he's off the court 60% of the time.

Regardless, if your criticism of him is that he is offensively limiting then this game should defy those expectations so much that it earns him a vest.

And thank god someone voted for Bitadze as the clear mittens winter, after F-Wagner's vest and Black's cumerbund.

Lollypops for Banchero and M-Wagner.

Franz was +5.2 points, +1.2 rebounds and + 5 assists above his average.

Black was +15.3 points, +3.4 rebounds, +3.6 steals with +3.5 makes on +4.5 attempts from 3 vs his averages.

I’m not saying Franz wasn’t great - but given his role and USG he plays to a higher standard of expectations.

F-Wagner shut down Avdija and Black did not shut down Poole.
