Completely overhauls our backcourt while giving Portland some younger players and a pick back. Not sure how I feel about it but the money matches up.

Sure whatever.

I’d do this if it means never reading another trade proposal for Simons ever again.

Since we're both fans of AB, let me ask you this: would you consider trading AB if it meant landing Mikal Bridges?

Something like AB, Harris, our 2024 1st, and the Den 2025 1st for Mikal Bridges.

Mikal Bridges is a great player. I’d love that he was in Orlando but I just don’t see Brooklyn moving him.

Orlando’s problem is at point guard most of the time. Bridges doesn’t really solve that. AB is the solution long term ( I hope ).

Short answer : sure but I don’t see it

Throwing it out one more time as he is the exact player we need on this team.
Wendell, Cole, AB, Jett, 3 first round picks for Desmond Bane.
Then do what it takes to sign Nic Claxton in free agency.

I love Bane but that is a massive overpay.

GSW doesn't do it (Kuminga has decent value) and maybe Atlanta if Johnson/Kuminga overlap a bit.

You think an expiring Fultz and WCJ + Harris gets us two guys who were all-stars last year? :o Even with Wiggins down year, surely our scraps are not getting that. ATL is asking for two first rounders for Dejounte.

Fair. But I think WCJ would work well with them and he’s locked into a good value deal. Harris does what they need - 3&D, and expiring contract. Bey, gun 3pt shooter and expiring. There’s value there which does more for them than I think Wiggins does, but I take your point it’s not enough for Kuminga. They can have Jett then :D

We can add a pick or two for DM, but Kuminga would serve as one of those by being a young stud ready for a bigger role. Fultz, again, expiring.

Ok, I’ll expand it and simplify it:

TOR: WCJ + Wiggins
GSW: Siakam + Bey
ATL: Kuminga + Fultz + Den pick + future ORL pick
ORL: DM

Pull back on the picks, and man I have AB as pretty untouchable, but Bane would put this team into contention IMO.

Paolo/Franz/Bane/Suggs would be so damn good.

Seems fair-ish... I think they're on a similar tier although I rate WCJ higher for being a big. For example, could we then flip Huerter for whoever we really want? I'm not so sure. Feels similar to a WCJ for Tyus type of deal that I'm not big on either for the same reason.

I don't hate it but I would be disappointed if we don't consolidate our assets for a bigger difference-maker.

Huerter has been a huge disappointment this year. I feel like WCJ's contract is solid enough and he's young enough that I'd want someone more reliable.

It would be a buy low-ish move on Huerter since he's struggled a bit this year.

But just last season he played 2203 minutes (29 MPG over 75 games) on a 48-win team and 11.1 3PT attempts per 100 last year at .402.

He's also been a positive ON/OFF guy for four consecutive years which I value.

Then if the Magic were so inclined, they could still do something like Fultz/Harris/pick for Tyus/Gafford swap.

I don't think Sacramento would even consider trading the Huerter from last year (15-3-3-1 on .617 TS%) for Carter though. The only reason he might be available is because he has struggled a bit.

But both teams are somewhat buying low. The Magic are banking on a bounce back and the Kings are banking on more consistent health.

I like this idea. He could be like Atlanta's Bogdan for us.
