Boston blueprint
1.Drafting two really good players…while the team is in a down period - check (including a lopsided trade)
2.Trade for everything else…we’ll see
3. Completely disregard salary cap because you know you’ve got the right guys and you’re a major $$ franchise…less likely

Is there ever really a team that follows another teams blueprint and wins? I think you have to be unique and do it your own way most of the time.

Well I think you can use their blueprint to also beat them. You build your roster to counter what they have as much as you can.

That's what Minny did to beat DEN, and then they got lost trying to beat DAL.
I get what you're saying and I think it's true to a degree. However, you simply need to build a team that can win in a variety of ways.

Active front office and draft a lot of wings, who can be turned into good (not great) players that fit really well with the homegrown stars.
To be fair Boston got a huge headstart while being a good team that got all those draft picks from a disaster NJ franchise(Smart, Brown, Tatum). The Derrick White trade just seemed like a fleecing.
Porzingis health always a gamble, but they gave up Smart, bad salary, and a 2nd rounder and got KP and two firsts.
I guess there is always a desperate franchise out there, so to be Boston we need to find the desperate franchises and not be one. The Vucevic trade is an example.
And hire really smart basketball minds? I mean Ainge and Stevens…sheesh
