Anyone know if Weltman’s woke from his mid-morning nap yet?? Hopefully he’s still not still sleeping off last nights clear victory lol.

One team that was worth watching last night was the Philadelphia 76ers, the team of endless possibilities this summer. They stuck at No. 16 and selected Duke guard Jared McCain, but Sixers president Daryl Morey said afterward they had offers to move the pick.
Philadelphia was given a chance to acquire a player and move back a few spots in the draft, and a chance to trade out and move far back into the draft while getting a slew of second round picks. Instead, the Sixers stayed at No. 16 and picked McCain.
wonder if we called

He's unknowingly had his Jitterbug on silent mode for a decade or so.

Post Draft Day One Takes:
I think PHI may have gotten the steal of the draft...McCain sounds just like Maxey - fantastic upbeat personality, tremendous talent coming from a major program, fierce competitor, works hard on defense, multi-skilled, not super athletic but craftily finishes at the rim over larger defenders. I was holding my breath for him to drop two more spots
I don't really like Knecht, but he landed in an amazing spot to showcase his (one) talent to the fullest
Shannon palling around with his twin, Anthony Edwards, in physique and downhill aggression, along with Dillingham to MIN is a big haul, imo. Dillingham was described as one of the funniest guys ever and will make for great energy with Edwards too and keep MIN "young at heart"
Collier falling to the Jazz is exciting...he can't shoot (yet?), but he's a tank going to the rim and can distribute to all of UTA's shooters
Topic and Dillon Jones to OKC, classic Presti, playing the long game while contending
Yves Missi and NOLA...pre-ordained perfect fit, assuming he's good

but Maxey and McCain both need the ball in their hand to be most effective. and then Embiid needs it too. going to be interesting to see how it works out.
Im surprised the people that dont like Knecht. He showed he could score in one of the toughest basketball leagues. yes, his defense might not be great, but he was also relied on for a majority of Tennessee's offense, a lot of times defense suffers.
As for Minnesota, they got great value in the draft. but how many balls can go around with all the players. keeping them happy will be interesting.

He's also not a one dimensional player. He was my number one pick if we moved up. An absolute sniper on the move, pulling up, or spotting up. That type of gravity would've been the perfect fit next to PB and Franz similar to what they're expecting in LA.
