I get that Joseph is a guard that can teach AB for point guard skills as a vet, but CJ isnt going to contribute anything outside of that. Huff would have been able to get minutes.

This argument is overblown, Franz and WCjr can fill minutes at the 4 and perform better than anyone we could’ve picked up in Free Agency at the 3rd string 4 spot.

Seems like a good use of a two-way contract rather than paying another point guard that will never see minutes ever but OK. Doesn’t even need to be Huff per se.

How is it a good use of that player will also not get minutes because they wouldn’t be a better option than Paolo, JI, Franz, WCjr and Moe?

Neither are getting minutes and the decision was likely based on their locker room presence.

Also, I feel like it is more likely that a vet 3rd string PG is more likely to get minutes than a 3rd string PF on this team.

I do like huff though and would’ve been fine if we signed him or a 3rd string PF, I just don’t think it should be considered a miss by the front office.

They still have two open two-way slots.

I'd imagine one of them will be a 3/4 type.

I 100% agree the Magic needs a two-way comboforward. Then, well dependent on a vison of a mid-season trade, whether Suggs or Carter, then the other two-way would be that emergency guy. Either a defensive minded PG or a rebounding/pick-setting C.

I cannot see a true SG or PF as a two-way for these final two slots.
