Magic Sign G Mac McClung to an Exhibit 10 Contract

In seriousness, I do wonder if McClung is better than Houstan. I realize they have different offensive skills. And both are horrible defenders. But summed up, I would be OK if the Magic cut Houstan and signed McClung.

Houstan wasn't horrible defensively last season. I still think he can be a Sam Merrill or Sam Hauser type player. He was up there with Merrill and Hauser in the percentage of shots that were 3 pointers.

Houstan could break out and have a really high 3-pt percentage in the next couple of years. Last season, when we had injuries, they were leaning on him for some offense, and he was forced to take some bad shots.

Ultimately, he probably gets traded.

Respectfully, how can you believe that? By metrics and advanced metrics, Houstan was very bad on defense. Maybe for you "very bad" is not "horrible". Is that what you mean?

Back to the question: would you rather the Magic have McClung or Houstan as Mr. #15? My view is I am ok either way.
