Imo our ultimate floor was to make playoffs from playin, ultimate ceiling was second round. Most objecitve scenario always was 45-ish win and first round exit.
This injury probably doesn't change any of it.

I don't think we can fall below 10th seed
I mean, by who?
Celtics
Knicks
Cavs
Bucks ( sucking right now)
76ers once they get healthy
Heat
Pacers

That's 7 teams. 3 left playin spots for us, Bulls, Hawks, Hornets. I am not sure some of them even want to make playoffs.

IN playoffs, if you make it, you can beat some teams like Pacers ,maybe Heat if Butler isn't locked in, maybe Bucks if they are injuried.

But that's pretty much it. Even if Magic had healthy season, i don't think they would win 47 games again. Last year we crushed bad teams and rest of East was hurt. This year East is better, Hornets are much better, Wizards and PIstons probably won't be breaking negative records etc

People who thought we can fight Celtics are probably same people who never watch playoffs and base their opinion on contenders on 2-4 times we meet them in regular season and think that's the best punch contenders can pack. Well... it's not.

That's how I saw it even before Paolo injury, besides 8th seed you just hope to get a good draw in terms of matchup. If we didn't make top 4 for home court, realistically doesnt matter where you land from 5-7, even 4 seed could be bad with specific matchups. Obviously stress of play-in is annoying but yeah
