Because... it hasn't? It looks bad because we're not scoring but we're holding teams to 15-25 point quarters pretty regularly.

It's top 3 in defensive efficiency currently. In fact, all the teams in the top 6 are either undefeated or have 1 loss and we're still top 3 with 5 losses. If we have any sort of offense it would bode extremely well.

Yeah, I really don't get "the defense has been bad lately" takes. It's been very good to great since Paolo got injured, we just held OKC to 101 ORTG which in today's NBA is excellent. The reason for the three double-digit losses in a row is almost exclusively the offense and particularly the bench offense which has been a total disaster.

My bad…I see the beatings and made an assumption

Glad we still have a defense…if only the shots would fall. It felt like KCP would spread the floor but, he’s been a dud so far.

Something I never understood. He had Harris 3p shot usage (low to mid volume) and shot 1% better next to one of the best players ever. No one was gonna guard him differently than Gary and his output was always going to be the same or minimal higher. He was never the answer to our shooting woes on that low volume and only catch and shoot ability.

I’d add that even if he’s making the shots…he’s not the answer to our offensive woes…pretty easy to see fit-wise. Good player but just more of the same.

“Defense wins rings” is not an excuse to ignore offensive fit…or presume young guys will just become whatever you tell them to become if you wait long enough.
