¯\_(ツ)_/¯
see this is where stats are so polarizing to me....gary to me has just been cardio gary since that first game that tricked me into thinking denver gary harris might be back....speaking of....it's crazy what injuries can do to a player....gary harris is not that old but looking back at his denver days....looks like a completely different player
I just think it’s really easy to consider lack of counting stats to actually be lack of impact.
Harris is a low volume player. He doesn’t dribble. He doesn’t seek out shots. He doesn’t really do anything on either end of the floor that’s beyond what his limitations and capabilities are.
Because of that, he’s obviously never gonna be a high counting stats guy on a consistent basis.
But at the same time he doesn’t give away possessions on either end of the floor basically ever. No “bad” shots. No turnovers. No obvious defensive breakdowns. No silly fouls.
When he’s on the floor, you know he’s basically going to be in the right spots and not screw simple things up.
Now, that doesn’t translate to a lot of points, rebounds, assists, steals or blocks, but it does often mean a positive impact on the floor.
