Actually there's no mention of Magic players at all in the whole series. Also no Magic players talk, just a few words from coach Mose and assistant coach Bret Brielmaier. I found it really weird. Either no one wanted to (would be uncool) or Wagners didn't want to (would be strange but understandable). Or maybe the team simply has not allowed them. All in all it was unexpected to hear Paolo's name only like once or twice. Hope it's not a big deal for the team's chemistry.

I imagine this is more a decision to keep it a Germany focussed doco. It is ultimately made for a German audience, who would care more about the national team and the Wagners than the Magic. It would be the same in Aussie (where im from) if they did a doco on Josh Giddey or someone. Focus on the Boomers mainly, but most of the general public wouldnt care about his team in the NBA.

Does anyone here speak German and can translate these lyrics? I can hear Penny Horace and Shaq and Wagner Brothers in the lyrics, but no idea about the rest.

There was one word i didnt understand myself as a german, but other than that:

Two brothers, raised in Berlin. An albatross on this crest lets them fly. (Albatross is the mascot of Berlin basektball team) They fight for what they deserve. Reunion in Michigan, still waters run deep. Wagner Brothers, now or never. It’s time for the whole arena to shout twice: MVP. The whole country cheers in Paris. In 2028, we’ll celebrate gold at Venice Beach. Love for the family, love for the game. Manila 23, nothing but love for the team. And (don’t get that one) in the Keys, magic reigns again after Penny, Horace, Shaquille O'Neal. One takes the shot from distance, the other soars high for a dunk. Finally, something big again in the country. Moritz and Franz. After Dennis, Detlef, and Dirk, a dream comes true for Moritz and Franz.

All in all quite good song, but im not surprised, this was done by one of the best and most successful german rappers.

Combination of cost saving, respect of others’ time, and it’s really a Wagner family doc.
Mo could be elsewhere in a year. I can see them doing another version of this in a decade.

This doc puts most NBA docs to shame in this millennium. It’s shot wonderfully. Hopefully a U.S. streamer pays the rights and shows it (I’d be surprised if no one does).

The quality and flow is tremendous. A real joy to watch.
