poll: outcome of second half of the season?

Post#1 » by drsd » Wed Jan 15, 2025 10:25 am

Half the season is compete, and at 23-18, the Magic is clearly projected to be at least a 46 win team.
Orlando's strength of schedule for the next 41 is 0.476, which means Orlando purely on schedule should win at a 105% rate, which is 24 wins.

Poll question: Are you over or under on the expected 47-35 record for 2024/25?

p.s. related to the Homer-line in the poll: to hit 53+ wins, the Magic need to go at least 30-11 (>73% win rate)

Depends on us getting and staying healthy.

I’d say health and small or bigger trade deadline move(s) could account for an enormous range of possibilities. They’ve hung in there very admirably and you want to believe that the second half CANT be as injury plagued, right?

I say 48 wins and a tough first round loss to MIL…but, it also seems entirely possible to rampage through the second half with a healthy team, some added big man depth and a boost in the backcourt. If they added Olynyk and Sexton and the team enjoyed league-average health, it wouldn’t be outrageous to make it to the ECF.

I feel good vs Bucks in a playoff series if we have Paolo, Franz, and Suggs.

I guess I’d have to see a healthy Isaac and an inspired WCJ to have a prayer of neutralizing Giannis- but you’re right. We’re better and deeper overall if we can just make him look human

If everyone gets healthy and NYK get their inevitable injuries due to short rotation Orlando can get 3rd place too.
If people keep getting injured every night eventually Pacers and maybe who knows even Pistons can junp over us, then play-in and no play offs at all is a possibilty.

I think we go 26-15 to finish with 49 wins.

"I like this team" ...but i wouldn't be surprised if we surpass all expectations.

This is exactly my expectation. Which is exactly were I thought the team would land preseason.

Q: how to find that 50th win ???

Same. Crazy we've not lost a step with all the injuries

We’re 3 games off my 50-win prediction pace, which all things considered is amazing.

I think 49 or 50 is still in play provided we don’t pick up big newer injuries.
