I am reminded that Orlando traded Biyombo away to pay Timofey Mozgov USD$27,146,666.00 over 3 years. His stat line over those three years was:
0/0/0/0/0 in zero games played.

Said Weltman at the time of the trade:
"Mozy is a terrific guy," Weltman said. "It’s a move where hopefully a fresh start with a couple of the players (like Mozgov) will work out. It’s all about how they assimilate with their new teams.”

There was lucky break, they traded for Mozgov and escaped his salary due medical retirement.
Mozgov went to Russia and tried to play, but couldn't through 19-20 season.

if he did, Magic would have to return his salary back to books.

For the 2018-19 Charlotte Hornets after this trade, Biyombo went 4.4/0.6/4.6 in $17,000,000 paid.

We thought Fournier was good.

Biyombo is worst case of good playoff series vs favorable match up overpay of all time.

Respectfully, Fournier was good.

At 22, he was a 12/2/2 guy. 23 was 15/3/3. 24 was 17/3/3. 25 was 18/3/3.

It was fully defendable why management kept Fournier and let Oladipo walk (it would have been defendable to have gone the other way; keeping both was not defendable).

Case in point: if 23-27 yo Fournier was Orlando's starting guard this year, Orlando would be a much better team.

p.s. Orlando ruin his career by shifting him fro SG to SF. But that's another story.

Fournier would kill the camaraderie.

Knicks fans would like to disagree, Isaiah Thomas signed Jerome James to $30M contract (which was big in 2005) based on one playoff game performance.
