Re: Dwight Howard to be Inducted to Magic Hall of Fame
Yawn, ok good for him.
To be fair, I don't think he deserves it yet. Wait another 10 years I might feel differently. This parade of people who were just visiting being inducted into a HoF doesn't mean much to me.
Also goes to show what we know, the quiet part out loud......
We have no career good players who retire here after doing something special.

Re: Dwight Howard to be Inducted to Magic Hall of Fame
I don't even care that he didn't finish his career here...he was here for quite a while, was awesome, and dragged us to a Finals.
My problem is the way he left...he was a jerkoff to Stan and the ORL community and is too dumb to realize he didn't handle things well. Shaq left after half as many years...but it wasn't done as classlessly.
I think enough time has passed and, as Adam pointed out, it would look silly and petty that he's in Springfield, but not ORL HOF- so, ok let's do it...but, I'm not loving the guy. Shaq has very publicly professed his positive feelings about ORL and his regrets for how it ended here.

He’s the Magic's best player in team history. Next is his jersey.

I'd start him lol
I wonder if Alex Martins will make a case for Dwight to sign with us for cheap this off season?

I wish Dwight could come back to finish his career. Poor role model from what I understand. Which is a low bar these days.

Liking his speech right now.
Brings back lots of memories.
Cannot believe it's been 21 years since he was Drafted.

He will always be my favorite Magic player. He is the reason why I became an Orlando Magic fan!!!

Decent but safe speech. He had a lot of emotions.
I’m hopeful Dwight’s TV stint with David and Jeff will be good.

Dwight deserves it. He should be an icon of this franchise for the future just like Coach Hill and just like Dennis Scott plus Nick Anderson or more.
Welcome home, Dwight!

Re: Dwight Howard to be Inducted to Magic Hall of Fame
He was a dips**t when he had his "time" with Stan and ORL.
But, credit where it's due- he handled himself gracefully and humbly in his speech and his time on the telecast. He had lots of opportunities to get carried away and say something stupid - but he did well the whole time. Good job, Dwight!
While they were talking to him, our "big" team was getting manhandled by the "Center-less" Lakers on the boards to a ridiculous degree...you could almost talk me into putting him out there, just to throw 'bows and collect boards.

Dwight is like a kid who always gets in trouble and makes you angree. But deep inside you love him no matter what. He will always be a part of the Orlando Magic legacy.

Re: Dwight Howard to be Inducted to Magic Hall of Fame
I really hated him for a long time after he left. I wasnt a fan when Shaq left but when T-Mac left, I still rooted for him. But I hated Dwight, I hated him the rest of his career, and was mad that he won a championship.
However time has passed now, and Ive finally moved on. Honestly it was him at Game 6 vs Cavs that did it for me. He was in attendance, and was rooting for the Magic, stayed til the end and was dancing to the song. And he has said lots of good things about Orlando after that game.
His years in Orlando were the peak of my fanhood, beating Lebron in 09 and going to the finals is my favorite sports fan moment. And that was all Dwight. Thank you for that.

Re: Dwight Howard to be Inducted to Magic Hall of Fame
I don't agree with notion that he could have been better if he "tried different ".
Guy was 6'9 center, his peak was in those transition years where league wasn't ready to become 3 point league, but rules already started to push bigs out of picture.
His natural prime should have been late 20s, but he was already banged up and by the time he was in late 20s, league was already different sport from one he played with Orlando in his early 20s. 3 point era, pace, space, he no longer could camp below rim, teams were exploiting centers in high pick&roll with popping centers.
If you go back and watch Warriors- Rockets in 2016, he was fish out of water. Fouling like crazy because Green & Curry pick&roll was too fast for him, him chasing shadows on perimeter, no longer being fast enough to recover or protect rim.
Even if he stayed, we would still go nowhere with him as best player. He left in 2012, by 2013 Al Horford was better than him at pretty much everything.

I got a pic of me sitting in his chair in front of his locker, lol. I liked Shaq alot more and hope that either Paolo or Franz exceed both in Orlando.

I loved in the game feed when LBJ got free-throws on a foul and Howard says for the feed "James traveled".

Wait… The last I heard about this clown was his court case where he and another huge dude basically raped a man…
It’s also well known that he stalked a porn star in his ORL days…
He was a force on the court, but his idiocy left a lot to be desired.
Y’all want that on the team?…
