Just checking Skybox.

You are aware Jeff Weltman is in the Front Office right?

I can save you 90% of your posts here if you just remembered that.

Why do we always ignore that our health team might be the problem and not Suggs, WCJ, etc. Didn't they go months without correctly diagnosing Suggs injury? I am more worry about Mo Wags future of injury than Suggs if we had a reasonable team working on the team's health

My read on a healthy, future Suggs is a combination of offensive explosiveness with elite defensive intensity. Good enough to be a third option and maybe even a second option on offense, and a teams best perimeter defender. Probably a terrific running mate for Paolo and Franz.

The top 5 comps for him from the 2023 season are:

2016 Monta Ellis
2024 Marcus Smart
2023 Victor Oladipo
2018 Kent Bazemore
1997 Bobby Phills

Top 5 comps for him from 2024 season are:

2023 Jalen Williams
2018 Josh Richardson
2023 Bruce Brown
2024 Alex Caruso
1998 Eddie Jones

Top 5 comps for him from this season are:

2018 Kent Bazemore
2022 Paul George
2010 Stephen Jackson
2014 Victor Oladipo
2023 Anthony Edwards

Edit: Updated the seasons the comps were from

There hasn't been news of this specifically for Suggs. But there was a report that when Suggs was training to return back he reaggrevated it whilst working out and overextending himself. Which seems to be correct to me given how reckless Suggs is when it comes to his intense work ethic.

If he's able to calm himself down and not be so aggressive all the time he should play 70+ games a year. Hopefully he learns to be smarter.

Wendell is has just always been injury prone since his Chicago days. That's nothing new.

Suggs future is bright. His energy and effort and enthusiasm is not easily replaced. He gets the defense going. He gets the team going. He gets the crowd going. He needs to be the guy in the middle of the huddle before the game starts getting his team going instead of Cole clowning around. Suggs future isn't the best player or second best player on the magic. His future is as team captain.

I sold my stock because he annoys me and gets injured but he could easily be a stud.

I wouldn’t do it for POR. Simons plus, but I know that deal does not interest ORL. Two way players only.

It's extremely rare that someone plays for one franchise their entire career. It's overwhelmingly likely, and in fact guaranteed, that PB, Franz, and Suggs leave the Magic...and most likely play for several other franchises as well, it's just how pro sports works in the era of free agency. Because of this, and his inability to stay healthy, I say trade Suggs this offseason while his value is still intact (because of his age) instead of watching him suffer yet another injury later on and truly cementing himself as an unreliable, injury prone player.

He's going to leave anyways, might as well get something for him while we can. I know fans like to pretend their favorite players will never leave, but the Dirk's of the world are insanely rare, you're only setting yourselves up for a let down if you convince yourself that these guys are never going to put on another uniform. They are, and the key to being a good GM is recognizing that and getting maximum value out of your assets. Our GM happens to suck at that, but if he decided to not suck at that for a day or two, then trading Suggs becomes an obvious consideration.

I am a believer in Suggs. I also believe that he has the highest realistic trade value.

Very few block buster trades regarding a no 1 option work out for the team in question. They don't get no 1 talent in return even from the incoming picks. Very very rare when the pick does become high AND they get the player to replace their no 1 talent.

The trade to potential asset return of Suggs has much more realistic potential to get equal value in return or even win the trade with the right pieces.

This guy is a high impact player that has managed to get better every season. He is not the problem. Signing another defensive and limited player like

I'm growing concerned that his frequent high impacts with the floor are pointing to a career with a lot of missed time. On the other hand, a calm patient Suggs is playing in China.

He's awesomely impactful ...one of the most aggressive, proactive defenders in the league. Hopefully, last season's high-volume 40% from 3 wasn't a fluke. There are lots to be excited about but certainly some concerns, imo, epecially with that big contract.
