I think we should try to trade all/most of our least mentally tough players.
Cole should be gone regardless
One of KCP/Harris should be traded propably Gary.
WCJ we should trade if we can find alternative. Not a.must bexouse of his skill set but he is the biggest sulker on the team.
Isaac we should try to trade if teams agree pay closer to 230lbs value than 250lbs value. He is also not that tough mentally when it comes to shooting which he admitted.
Black/Howard we should consider trading but without forcing the issue.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

I actually kind of don't want to trade him for that reason because I could see him being impactful like he was in 23-24 again, but somebody has to be sent out to make deals work.

I’m done on waiting for JI’s next season. I’m ready to get off this train.

I would take Isaac's 23-24 season every year for the rest of his contract in a heartbeat.

1st in the NBA (by a wide margin) in Defensive EPM
1st in the NBA (by a wide margin) in ESPN Defensive Net Points
+10.9 overall NET

I don't care that he only played 16 MPG.

Give me 16 MPG of THAT and he's worth so much more than the rest of his contract.

You can only pick a single season out of his entire career.

You do realize how bad that is right?

The players next year making the same basic salary as Isaac: Terance Mann, Dorian Finney-Smith, Paolo Banchero, Naz Reid, Jonathan Isaac, Isaiah Stewart, Onyeka Okongwu, Daniel Gafford, Deni Avdija.

Every player on that list has a higher mpg stat line. But none are MILES better than Isaac, in my opinion (except the one player on a rookie deal).

But playing this out to 27/28, Isaac will make the same as Jarred Vanderbilt.

Isaac will be quite an affordable bench guy starting in 2026/27, and beyond. That implies that he is a tradeable asset, and I suspect there will be league interest.

That said: in no way would Isaac be a top-3 guy for me in trades. That is, in order for me, Anthony, Caldwell-Pope, and Howard. If one of Anthony or Caldwell-Pope are not traded, I will be upset actually.

I do not like the longevity that Isaac has had on this team. That being said, I highly doubt we trade him unless management approves the trade. We have literally taken care of him 2-3 generations deep. I do not see other teams looking at him that way.

You could include JI instead of Goga in a Poole deal and keep Jett. Then draft Wolf at 25 and have 6 Michigan players on the roster next season. The Devos family would love that.

We could add Tim Hardaway on a vet minimum deal to give us 7. Miami could waive Robinson and save $10m. Give Atlanta 3 seconds for Bufkin and Caris Levert.

Yep...there's nothing a Michigan State family loves more than looking up at U of M... :nonono:
