Wcj is solid, he is alright. Not flashy. He is a capable big when he is motivated. He played so well during the play-in game. But sometimes, he plays like a pussy. WCJ complements Paolo in a way because he is versatile enough to defending the best big man of the opposing team. This allows Paolo to rest on defense.

Honestly, I’d draft a big at 25th so we can trade Goga for a pg or table setter to stabilize the second lineup.

And maybe get more athletic players and shooters to round out the roster.

The hustle defensive play of Suggs and an electrifying athlete to top it off with a dunk, that’s the type of swing plays that can bring the team energy to a higher level.
If Minnesota trades Gobert for Durant, they'll need another center.

I would love to get some value back for Goga. Draft a big at 25 potentially.
I'd like to get NAW for Goga, Jett, and a pick. That would make it easier to retain Cojo, Moe, and Harris.

Sign me up for Moe. I’m good with Corey. Harris at vet min is probably ok but I’m so ready for him to be gone at the same time. Harris would be the last person I resigned. I would see what else is out there.

Just curious, can't we just decline Jett's option and just walk away?

They already picked it up this season. I think around August we can decline it for year 4.

Rookie contract years get exercised before the previous season starts.
So Jett’s ‘25-‘26 season was exercised back in October.

I am not feeling Goga as a starter at all - he is really best as a 3rd big and injury replacement starter. I don't really know why people want Wendell gone so bad (although he is overpaid, it's not egregious and he knows his role IMO). And the trade options people salivate over like Gafford or Turner are either too expensive or not really that great either.

I agree.

He doesn't block shots. But.... he defends the paint. People like the counting stat... but i'd take his combination of holding players to a low field goal percentage and his ability to get out and face up against guards on switches. I love wendell. And injuries have knocked him down in the past for sure. But i can still remember the physical individual we had before we got Paolo. He was a walking double double in 30 min... and part of the offensive hub as well. The desires on social platforms seem to be different than how the front office view him... even during our frustrations. He just got locked up by them. So... i don't think he is as much on the trading block as people make it seem. I'm not sure we are going to be actively trying to trade any of the bigs else at this point... especially with moe's injuries. But barring injuries... we should be able to keep enough offense on the court at all times. And depending on the outlook of the FO... Black, TDS, and Jett might be able to start filling the gaps. Like many would love to see Walter get selected and start a development path for us as well. Danny Wolf and Reynaud would also be interesting options as well. We will see how things play out next week.

I don’t really read this thread but did ANYONE even remotely suggested us getting Bane in all the fake trades that you guys do here?

jezzerinho wrote:Suggs and Bitadze (and a Future pick?) for Bane?

Saves us from having to go for an offensive-only flamethrower PG.

Then Isaac and Black and the Denver pick for CJ McCollum and Herb Jones.

McCollum, Joseph, Anthony
Bane, KCP, Houstan
Wagner, Jones, KCP
Banchero, Jones, TDS
WCJ, Wagner, ?

The Pels part was a tad unrealistic!

Our 2nd unit now doesn't look that bad if we keep the guys and do AB, Harris, TDS, Isaac and Moe but I would like to trade Isaac and Jett for some upgrades and do AB, upg, TDS, Moe and Goga(or another upg).
Then draft the best fit available between guard and center

Agreed, our as-is bench is enticing.

AB/Jett/TDS is a bench core I get irrationally excited about.

JI/Moe are a great balance.

There are flies in the ointment though. Moe is coming back from injury, JI is a big on offense, Jett sucks, TDS is unproven, and AB needs to take a huge leap to be even average offensively.

The final fly is that Goga is too good to be a third string big.

I'm not really sure what the solution is.

Agreed. I'm not big on Jett and I'm mentioning an Isaac trade because I was watching a game with Paolo and WCJ out and Moe/Goga playing and... holy cow. We need THAT Goga back! I think it was against the Nets. Not a pretty game but Moe and Goga were relentless

Give me a vet in Jett’s spot and I’m good.

You guys don't think we are adding a point guard at some point? We are going to have the exact same problems we had last year if we don't.

Should probably/will have one as a Cole replacement because I don't see CoJo staying either, but I would also say the "problems" we had when we were us as a 3rd seed early when Franz/Suggs were healthy and late in the season with our injuries was different. Bane is also completely different from Harris/KCP in that he can actually be on-ball and be a movement shooter compared to just standing around. He also is used to point guard reps when Ja was injured.

What's everyone's opinion on Jett + #25 -> C. Whitmore and D. Roddy. Gives us a young player that can grow with the team as a backup SG/SF and Roddy gives us some insurance if we have frontcourt injuries.

Whitemore doesn’t play team ball. I don’t think he fits.
