So far Bane is not any better than Pope but it’s only 2 preseason games

I think Bane looks great as well. He's got way more juice than I even realized as a slasher and passer, and I thought he had a lot!

3. Tyus fit is awkward

AB still struggles with bringing ball down the court against pressure, but he does look improved as far as making tight moves with the ball. He wasn't bad at that last year, he could break his man down and get to the basket pretty often (if he had slightly better touch near the basket he would be scary, even blew two last night) . His shot looks a little more fluid to me again this year as well. Also at some point he is going to have a huge highlight poster dunk.

Bane is going to be a great fit.

I think Tyus is going to be solid against bench units with AB. But when Suggs sits they kind of have to start him over AB or it would be him and Jase off the bench, so I get it, but wouldn't be surprised if AB closes a lot of those games out as the "Point Guard". Also Tyus with the starters at least does give them another shooter, it should be OK.

The other alternative would be to start Jase 8-)

Yeah I was going to mention that. I think it is a real possibility later in the season. I mean this all depends on how much they actually load manage Suggs and if he can stay healthy, so we'll see. But Jase playing off ball with the starters if you are fine with Franz/Paolo/Bane doing most of the playmaking would easily give them the most floor spacing possible.

I’ll take Tyus in the starting lineup because I don’t want to see Paolo pound the ball.

Sure, but Tyus brings the stability for the second unit.

These near rim misses are frustrating.

I do too. He really hasn't been bad there to this point at all, I think his physicality helps him a lot in that regard. I'm not just talking about stuff directly at the rim though, floaters, and tough angle bank shots as well. I just think he probably won't ever be an elite 3 point shooter, but does have chance to be very good at getting to the basket and line. If he just marginally improves at a few things though he should be able to push himself into being a positive player given his defensive ability.

Agreed. Suggs remains his best statistical comp. Could be because they have similar strengths and play in the same system but it's a positive sign

A starting lineup of 5 introverted personalities is not going to work.

The starting 5 really don’t have anyone with a personality but they are great players. We need Suggs.

Jonathan Isaac plays better with an Afro? Haha

Did you see him play last season with that Afro? A scrub is a scrub! Now he's a scrub with dreads promoting a shoe! :o

You’re talking to the wrong one. I like JI’s play. He might not have played well last year but his over defense has been great when he was on the floor. So, I am really not here for the name calls.

I want to see Jase in the starting lineup in a preseason game. I just want to see how he would fair with them. Seeing as Tyus cannot defend, Jade can’t be much worse.

How long before we see a 'Start Jase' thread? I really think this kid has a great chance to be special

I like that because much of the bench are not self-creators...JI, Moe, Goga, AB, Penda, etc could all look their best with a pure set-up man on offense (while they all provide awesome defense).

It comes with the territory and quite simply he needs to play better! We only accept winners in Orlando, ENOUGH of the losing mentality.

I'm like Shaq when he was talking with Charles Barkley on Inside The NBA, stop babying those players and if they don't play well they will sit down on the bench!

I hope Mose realizes that Tyus is just not a good fit with the starters already. He was brought here for the 2nd unit and to mentor our young guards. I am hoping to see Jase start next game and have Tyus play with whom he will be playing the most with.

I actually found it odd, that Tyus was chosen to start instead of Jase as Mose does not like to mess with the 2nd unit when there are injuries to the starters and usually brings the 3rd stringer to start instead (what he did with Goga, Cory and Caleb). Maybe Jase already took Tyus spot in the 2nd unit. Tyus will get the Cory Joseph role. I'd be very surprised if that is how they role to start the season already, but maybe they trust Jase that much already that once Suggs comes back, as long as Jase is balling, Tyus becomes the 3rd stringer, you can only hope, lol.
