No disrespect to jesse murymes but....prunty seems like he actually knows what he's talking about

Such a breath of fresh air to now get this big effort to increase the pace. Will give up some more points but will really limit our slow possessions that go nowhere. Everyone needs to be patient though. There will be some new growing pains with this new directive. Bane and Tyus both will have to get used to their new team mates and our guys getting used to them and how and where they like to be set up. This team’s ceiling is light years ahead of last year. We can all make the same jokes about Bane is now KCP but imo that is lazy and starting to get annoying. If you can’t see the effect he is already having on our offense I can’t help you.
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Now teams play 3-4-5 most.

And it seems like it's only thing about nba were league doesn't force teams into their rules. Basically, most games are pre-arranged years in advance, and you can play 0 games if you want. 8 is maximum league allows.

Tbh this is even more confusing to me, because some teams elect to play back to back preseason games on their own volition. That's wild.
Why would you arrange game ( Houston vs Atlanta ) just to elect to play 39 years old guy 37 min in last preseason game to stay below 9 men used? That is really wild.
Why would you play your young star starter 35 min and your veteran who is btw injury prone 31 min in preseason ? Blazers did both. With several players.

Anyway, just one more day and preseason is over and we can watch some real basketball.

I would prefer playing at least one "real" preseason game vs actually equally interesting & engaged opponents, like OKC or Bucks or Warriors.
Because lineup of 76ers, Heat, Pelicans was just limp. For start, non of them is projected to have good season, and all of them have massive injuries heading into season + they still elected to hold back very few talented players they actually have. With Pelicans game being closest thing to actual game, yet even they still played 3 rookies for half of a game.

I guess i just need to be patient and wait for first game of regular season. I've seen enough Walker Kessler & Andre Drummond 3s for my lifetime in span of several days

btw that Bane shooting stuff is irrelevant in preseason. I don't know why that is even topic of conversation. He should be more of facilitator & playmaker, didn't really show much in preseason, but once again, that is also irrelevant. Everything good or bad is irrelevant. They all start with 0,0,0,0 on 0/0 shots on first night. Preseason is light sparring. Nothing more.

I fully agree with what your saying but people said the same thing for months on kcp shooting... "Oo don't worry hell break out of it" and he never did.

I have more confidence in bane of course, and he brings so much more to the table then kcp ever did. Overall I'm not to concerned but only getting 9 threes up when ever other preseason he was well over 20 is a bit odd. So we'll see how it all plays out.

I remember it took a bit for Rashard to warm up in '07.

For whatever it’s worth, in those other preseasons with Memphis he played 4 games and was in the mid 20s in MPG.

This year he only played 3 and one of the three games he basically played just one quarter.

Yes, I don't think it'll be completely smooth to start the season. They'll need time to dial in how much energy to spend on offense and defense. The talent should be the difference most nights but they'll drop a game or two because they focused too much on running and offense and forget to defend. Same with getting the new players involved, sticking to the new game plan, etc.

Assuming everyone stays healthy, they should be cruising later in the season!

Bane will probably have a 3 game stretch shooting nearly this poorly in the regular season as well. Probably has at least a few times in his career.

For as meaningless as preseason is, a random stretch of a few regular season games is also pretty useless to draw any conclusions from.

I'm not really worried about him, but we'll see soon enough.

Yeah, these are preseason games where Bane is attempting to get himself more acclimated. Worrying about him shooting the 3 during this time shouldn't matter.

What really matters is if he fits and buys into what the team is trying to do. And from the looks of it he is a MAJOR upgrade at the guard slot.

I actually thought we had an undefeated preseason before, too. Was it that one? Or are you just messing with us?

2-0 in 2004-05.
8-20 in 2009-10
4-0 in 2025-26

That's all data i could pull from nba.com.
