Double teams

So we brought Lewis in to help spread the floor. But does he draw a double team? Do we have anyone other then Dwight that requires a double team? Is that kind of player more important then one that just helps "spread the floor"? Or are the end results basicly the same?
Your thoughts.
Also is Jameer helping out on double teams, or does he just not know how to stay with His man? I mean in every game, it seems that His man gets open looks and he is somewhere else on the court. He make guys like Carter look good. Is he doing what he is supposed to or screwing up?

Lewis was never brought to draw double teams. He was signed to knock those open 3's whenever his man helps defending Dwight... not the other way around.

he'll draw them occasionally, but not so much when he steps out as much as when he goes to post up...

Hedo gets A LOT of attention and in the past few games I even saw him triple teamed when Dwight wasn't on the court. When Dwight is on the court, Hedo still gets the occasional double team and that leads to open looks for Rashard and Keith/Mo.

Spreading the wing requires zone defense. Thus, there are no perimeter players on the Magic roster that require a double team.

The benefit of having Lewis was seen last night.

The Nuggets had KMart (their better on-man defender) on Dwight. That took their best shot blocker and help defender, Camby, out to the perimeter. If we had a more prototypical 4, then Camby would have been a lot closer to the paint.

That said, we still need a better 4 than Lewis is at the 4.

1. the one disturbing thing about rashard is his defense has become once again insignificant.
2. he is not rotating on time, is not boxing out, is not doing anything.
3. a few games ago, he was at least trying, sort of.
4. even when his shot is on, his porous defense makes him difficult to stay on the court.

So the option is to play Augustine, or Foyle at PF? It was well known that Lewis had not been among the defensive elite.

Love it or hate it, this team is built to outscore it's opponents, and is still several pieces away from contending.
