ok well thorn has said that he is open to trading marcus williams and will do it so i was thinking, they would want expirings in the deal becuse kidd looks like he wants out and with gilbert arenas on the market this summer, they want lots of capspace, so how about this deal
magic give up:
keyon dooling
pat garrity
fran vazquez
2008 second round pick
nets give up:
marcus williams
jason collins
why for us?
we need a starting point guard and this guy could step right in, he's a pass first point guard and he's been leaning from the best in the business for he past year and a half. with the injury of battie, we are desperate or another big as we are occasionally playing james augustine, collins could step in there and provide a defensive presence that we are lacking when dwight comes out.
why for them?
with the trade demand tht kidd has issued, they'd be wanting capspace in any deal for kidd and in any deal in general so that they can go after the prized free agents this summer (arenas, okafor, etc), so they get dooling (who if you remember they were going after a couple of summers ago when he signed with us), garrity who is 4 million dollars coming off the books this summer. so they have 7 million dollars coming off this next summer and they aren't absorbing anything because vazquez hasn't come over yet (nd when he does he gives them a good three headed monster down low with magloire, krstic and vazquez). they also get a pick this year, which they can either move in a deal with kidd, or any deal, or can hang onto and see what comes of it in the draft.

yeah but im thinking realistically and i dont see how we can get kidd without giving up one of the big three and i dont want to do that...hedo is untouchable to me as well as dwight...rashard just cant be traded cause of his contract
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are

All I'm saying is ..we would be more of a contender with Jason Kidd. Our overall play depends on the solid ball movement and leadership from the point guard spot.
I think we would move up a level if JKidd was brought into Orlando.
If someone was to bring up the fact that he is old, I give you this. Kidd is better, and will be better through the length of any of our point guards contracts, and will make us instantly better.
The only problem is contract issues, he does have huge money still left and it would cripple our PG position, leaving us with only Kidd after trading away all of our expirings and Jameer to make it work.

Not sure I agree. The Magic in this hypothetical add Kidd to make a two-year run at an Eastern title. Then, in the 2009/2010 off-season, they have a $20M expiring deal to play with; plus a chance to resign Kidd for MLE-type money (let's say 8M for Kidd and 12M for the rest of the expiring)
If the Magic could get Kidd for any trade that excludes Howard, Lewis, and maybe Turkoglu, then GM Smith must pull that trigger.
